If you use the Cineworld in Barnsley town centre, you need to be aware of the discrepancies in pricing. I went along with my daughter on Monday afternoon and we learned that had she booked her ticker online in advance it would have cost her £5.99, but as she bought the ticket at the counter it cost £10.99. A £5 increase!! The management are unhappy about this situation and have sent in a complaint to head office, but it would have been nice if the lass at the counter would have instructed her to buy the ticket on her phone instead, if they knew about the £5 increase. My daughter is going to send her own complaint in. So if you are going to the cinema (and you should, because it really is a nice cinema that we are spoiled to have, and not enough people are using it), make sure you book the tickets in advance, even if you just stand and book them on your phone whilst queuing for your popcorn.
The last one I got is cost me £198. £6 for the popcorn, and then £192 for the subsequent dental work when I got a piece stuck under a loose filling.
We went on Saurday. The whole place was reeeaallly quiet. It concerns me that not enough people are using it and the town will lose it. I can't see how they turn a profit on the numbers going through. OK, the film we watched was not a popular one (The Persian Version) but there was me, my wife, and one other person in there.
we went Sunday evening to see Persian Version and their was only me and the missis there. Was like having a private screening but not sustainable obviously
I was expecting a private screening of that this afternoon, but I had to miss it thanks to the never ending virus, which has now turned into an irritating tickly cough, but the tickle is down in my lungs, not my throat, so even Buttercup Syrup won’t help! My lungs feel battered and bruised. It’s been like having a permanent mild asthma attack. Fortunately, I booked a GP appointment a few weeks ago for tomorrow about something else, so hopefully he’ll have a listen to my chest too. Hopefully a short course of steroids will sort it out. Bloody annoying, either way.
