You reckon those screens are a bit bigger than the one at Oakwell?

Ridiculous that, gets me why none of the new stadiums built over here have retractable roofs given how terrible the weather can be in winter, plus the atmosphere it generates is electric...well, based on the one game I've ever watched from under a closed roof.

I can tell you why. They're insanely expensive. And fairly high maintenance, given the massive weight that is being shifted when opening/closing.

It cost £400 million more than Wembley.

Fan experience to a new level.

The ultimate fan experience for me would be having a beer delivered to your seat, which certainly doesn't cost that much :D

They should design modern stadia to have your choice of drink pumped directly to the seat. And one of those tube things you see at Tesco to deliver hotdogs/chicken balti pies direct to you as well. And a tv screen under the seat you can pull out to watch a different match if the one you are at is a bit boring.

That roof mechanism reminds of the music box in Camberwick Green.

    I still prefer 1980-style Oakwell......

Save on the expense on those expensive closing roof jobbies.. A few old sunroofs out of a few sierras from down the scrappy would do it..

Nice little sunroof in the west stand.
