Struggled over the years to nail a good chinky down. Best one I’ve found is Golden City at Cundy Cross but would like to try somewhere different as this one is closed for a bit due to family reasons.

    Any recommendations?

China court at mapp . A bit pricier and I don't think they deliver ( it's a restaurant as apposed to a takeout ) but it's the best I've had .

Yes. As a Chinese takeaway we do. As an insult to Chinese/Asian people absolutely not. But we know and the people of that demographic know that it is not intended to be insulting or abusive in any way. It's just a colloquial term used with affection. It's about as far away from abuse as you can get. It's the local Chinky run by a lovely Chinese family that we've been going to all our lives because we love it.

I dont call it that anymore. I dont know if its something i conciously stoppped doing or not but as a kid it was called that by everyone but the important thing is that it refered solely to the meal and never to the people. It was always used in the same way that id go to the chippy.

In fact because a chinese takeaway wss always brought home by parents i dont think i even realised for quite a while that the people who ran it were chinese (hey the guy cooking my kfc isnt from kentucky) and it was still a chinky in my head. Like i said ive no idea when or why that changed for me.

I would say go my sister-in-laws shop where i help out at the weekend, but that's in Sheffield. Infact I'm there now just finishing cleaning up.

Yes, my other half is Chinese.
