I'll split them further. Their statement was TWO sentences. See the full stop after "immediate effect".
When I were a lad an atom was the smallest indivisible particle. Now look. Splitting hairs is piece of piss in comparison.
I do like this statement a lot. I disagree with a bit of it. Although we did play great attacking football at times, promotion was won on the best defence we've had in my lifetime. Pinnock was imperious, Davies phenomenal and although not as talented as those two, Lindsay complemented them both wonderfully. We played well and we mullered the opposition, we played so-so and we won, we played terribly and we won. I've never known that before. We just didn't concede goals. Best defence in the football league. Bettered by only one team the Premier League. And we played a high press leaving those three exposed at times. But they were just so good. I don't know how good a manager Daniel was, and now, unfortunately, I'll never know. What I do know is the way you've described how he assimilated himself into our town is so right and worth so much and deserving of those words you've written.
Fair play mate because you've been consistent with that assessment from start to finish last season. I don't disagree about the defence, and the number of times Davies saved us, but I think we played great attacking football in almost every game. Sometimes it didn't come off over a full 90 minutes, but even within the poorest of games there'd be glimpses of Stendel's influence, a counter attack that left you breathless, a passing move that was from the Wenger school of coaching or something, and it was all such a joy to watch. It wasn't always like that like you've pointed out, and the ability to win was phenomenal. But it made it a thoroughly entertaining season and turning up at Oakwell and travelling all over the country for away games never felt like a chore or a routine. The more this sinks in the more I think this is one of the slackest things the club has ever done.
Sums it up. Great release showing how he’s regarded by the fans. Thank you for your passion and positivity round the team and on the pitch. We don’t know the ins and outs so wrong to speculate but on a footballing and team front a true red!!!!
