The only thing they understand is relegation (like Rangers in Scotland) - they were banned from transfer, yet ignored this & were “let off”! Automatic relegation (to L1 or L2) will hit them financially (we apparently “lost” £6 million due to relegation). 12 point deduction is weak - they’ll keep the players they bought against the financial rules. Oh, & they’re a vile club n’all

So they signed a player when they were under embargo and spent £202 for every £100 coming in! Blatantly ignoring and flounting the embargo and FFP, they should throw the book at the cheating bar stewards.

An FFP breach should result in the offending team being barred from promotion/silverware for that season and having to play away at the runner up from the division below's playoffs for a spot in whichever league they are currently in, with the team from the league below winning in the event of a draw.

They should be relegated and made to make Nigel Clough their manager with a 2 year no sacking clause

Why should the club be penalised because of its fans !?!?!
    That’s ridiculous.

What we should have is a return to fencing.
But this time have fencing that can be operated at pitch side to drop forward onto the field if there is an emergency in the stands.

I hope Birmingham don’t take the place of Bolton.
I’m hoping Bolton get relegated and they keep on going until they reach the bottom of the 2nd division.

Just heard on news - points deducted nothing to do with fan running onto the field.
It relates to mis management of accounts.

Haven’t the EFL basically admitted their own rules are unenforceable here though?

“Birmingham were handed a transfer ban last season for exceeding permitted losses in a three-year period, but they signed Kristian Pedersen, the full-back, regardless.

The EFL refused to register Pedersen initially, but after reviewing the such a move from a legal standpoint, the 24-year-old was finally awarded clearance to play two days before the start of the season.

The EFL expressed their disappointment at Birmingham ignoring the transfer embargo to sign Pedersen, who has gone on to play 30 times this season”

Why on earth? Who wants a fence spoiling their view? Talk about over reacting!

This is the crux of the matter. Time and again clubs flaunt the rules knowing they can get away with it if they challenge them in court.
Surely there must be a way to make all clubs agree to abide by league rules or forfeit their right to a place in the system. All the lot of them need sitting down with a pen and told to sign up to acceptance of regulations on penalty of forfeit of their league place or be told to f**k off and form their own league.

This is a really good idea, if it were legally enforceable. I have some knowledge of contract law. Not sure how legislation concerning restraint of trade may affect it. I know Unfair Contact Terms Act only protects non business people signing things that are unenforceable under the law. Elsewhere you are expected to know what you are signing as a business.

Not sure allowing swords into a football ground is a good idea. Best keep it to Olympics

Just been announced that Birmingham and Villa have both been fined £5,000
by the FA for failing to control their players in the recent Derby. They have yet
to hand out any punishment to Birmingham for the fan who ran onto the pitch
    to assault Grealish.

The last time there was an emergency in the stands those who were pitch side kept closing the doors shoving fans back in because they thought an emergency was a pitch invasion

What role are the EFL playing in this? It sounds farcical.
