Blackburn under the hated Venky's have managed to reestablish themselves at this level. Just a thought.

They may be hated but they have just put £5.3m in to Blackburn through a share issue.

However, their financial ability isn’t exactly great. In the year to March 2019 they lost £19.5m and cumulative losses stand at £95m.

They lossed 16.8m when getting promoted from league one in 2018, spending 187% of their turnover on wages. The venkys had to inject over 14m into the club to stop them going into admin. The club had lost 153m in 8 years up to then. Last year figures have not been published but losses of around 19m are predicted. Not sure Blackburn and the Venkys can be held up as a paragon of how to do things in the championship. Id sooner be in Div 2 than risk the club like that.
Thats not to say there isnt another way.

They post under Venkys London Limited, accounts to March 2019 are posted at Companies House.

I'm definitely not presenting Venky's as a beacon of financial competence. I just think it's interesting that the fans detest them so vehemently, and yet on the field they are still doing considerably better than we are. I accept that out owners do not want to put the future of the club at risk, and for that I am grateful. But buying us, then investing absolutely nothing to take the club forward is frustrating in the extreme. Not to mention very strange.

The Venkys and any investment seemed invisible for a number of years, which saw Blackburn fall from top half of premier league to league 1. That, plus some aspects of how they bought the club and some managerial appointments led to that backlash against them.

The last few years seems to be different. They had the likes of Mulgrew and Danny Graham playing in league 1. They’ve spent £7m on Ben Brereton, £5m on Sam Gallagher. That’s £12m in less goals than Chaplin has got on his own. They’re also paying massive wages to likes of Stewart Downing. All for mid table obscurity, and FFP scrutiny.

On the pitch, their approach might seem better than ours on the face of it. But it could lead to disaster.

Blackburn are a bit bigger than us though aren’t they. Like Bolton, Bradford and Forest Green Rovers.

How many clubs has it actually led to disaster for though? If you're cheating financially, the odds actually seem pretty well stacked in your favour (I'm not advocating it by the way, just playing Devil's Advocate).
