I think it’s a bit ridiculous to suggest they would flatten the ground and build an housing estate with a park in the middle. People will worry over owt

I haven’t suggested that, I am suggesting the clause of requiring a public open space is a pretty ineffective clause of protecting football on the current site if that is actually the case.

Worrying..? Don't think anyone is worrying, just highlighting loop holes where the stadium continuity is not as watertight as some thought.

This was in relation to buying the old brewery / school so not dependant on the ground purchase (I think)

Patrick had come to the decision that the club owning the ground was the best option and was talking about buying the councils share only a couple of years ago
How do you spend millions on a ground thus increasing its value with your partner not wanting to match the investment

It depends how they want to go tbh if it’s to just improve facilities and gain profit from them then a long term leasehold would easily cover that .
If it’s to increase valuation of their assets then a sale is important . That’s why imo the latter should be thoroughly scrutinised before sale .

From conversations I've had with a certain person who in all fairness will remain anonymous .. Patrick and the council weren't actually best of buddies.... Patrick had made numerous approaches to buy the councils share and had been met with a resounding sorry not for sale not negotiable reply, that's why Patrick was at logger heads with them .. Councils take on it . Whilst they hold 50% of the ground and the agreement in place for the old queen's ground .. No one can asset strip the club plus no matter which league we find ourselves there's a site for football in the town.... It Safe guards the club in the long term however... Short term no one can take out loans against assets held and this then can be detrimental to the owners... Complicated.yes...but the council have our best interests at heart

Patrick himself said that the council were willing to sell BUT for the value of the land with planning permission for a housing estate on which is much more than it's worth to the football club. Words to that effect anyway
