Well if the worst thing that happens is that they start next season in league one with a 12 point deduction they will have got off very lightly indeed
It does seem like a cheap get out for them, though Anderson has said he had little or no choice, I don’t think it’s actually happened yet. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is just another of the cynical moves he makes to get his own way and that it doesn’t actually happen. EDIT Sky are reporting that it has already been done. Either way you can’t help thinking they might get off relatively lightly through this action
Anderson is even having the audacity to blame Bassini for making promises he couldn’t keep, oh the irony
Look's like it is the family of Eddie Davies that has petitioned to put them into admin, rather than Ken Anderson(due to the unpaid debt to them believed to around £5m)
....also, the automatic 12 point deduction will sting, but the 2 year(I think) transfer embargo will hit them more, what with them only having 9 contracted professionals at the club, and it's believed that 6 of those are walking away due to non payment of wages. They will also be waiting on the punishment from the EFL for not completing their obligated fixtures, so at the very least you would think there would be another 9 point deduction.
Adjourned winding-up order petition to return to the High Court this afternoon. It was adjourned to find a buyer last time. Since then, they have failed to honour their fixtures. As far as I can see, that will be that. Farewell Bolton Wanderers.
Just compounding the heartache. I never thought I'd see another club more buggered than Blackpool n' Leyton Orient. However, Bolton are making them a tied second.
According to the live blog from Mark Illes at the Bolton Evening News, it has been adjourned until May 22...
Finally. They've been getting away with this for far too long and been treated differently because of their history.
Disgusting, the law should be enforced, irrespective of them being a Football club, they have failed to pay HMRC(us).
It keeps getting kicked into long grass eventually it’ll be tiresome news enabling a flimsy outcome on their favour.
Why am I not surprised that between me initially posting the breaking news that they have been given yet another reprieve: absolutely shocking
Bang on CD. They are actively looking for an Administrator and as you say they have 14 days to achieve that. Relegation is a big blow, as is the fact that they definitely will incur a 12 point deduction, but the most worrying part as far as their fans are concerned, is that it looks likely that they won't have a squad to honour their fixtures. The future looks bleak for the Club, but you can't really sympathise at their plight, because the majority of their problems look to be self inflicted. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/ken-anderson-releases-poorly-timed-bolton-wanderers-statement/
12 months ago they were celebrating staying up at our expense, how quickly things can change. I have sympathy for the fans most of whom are just folk like us who enjoy going to game with family and friends. What a mess football is in, the fact punishments are rarely enforced just encourages owners to spend beyond their means.
As a company its done. There is no flimsy outcome in their favour. The administrators sole job is to represent their client(s) as creditors to satisfy as best as possible the debt owed. And as its all secured theyll not be able to go down the CVA route...
