That's what I thought. Ref gave us nothing up to that point then seemed determined to make up for it giving us some really soft ones. I think there should be redress for Anderson's booking and their lad that smacked Woodrow(?) in the face, should have been off. He looked round to see where Woodrow was then deliberately smacked him in the chops.
Just three of their players cost a total of over £50 million (according to Matt on commentary), you'd get 10 Barnsley squads for that.
You would think they would have a strong bench too, but arguably their substitutions made them worse (and ours were better).
I had Matt Bailey on but turned over when I saw the comments and couldn’t switch over it was fascinating listening to him conjure up the strangest ways to say we were lucky.
Or maybe Val realised that the game was likely to be won or lost in the second half and wanted all his best players on for it?
It'll be one very happy journey back home for em, results like this cement belief and can define seasons even though it's only one game.
I thought he did brilliant to keep his composure after the lucky escapes, he could easily have lost confidence. That's definitely one of the toughest games he's faced because of Bournemouths pace and constant tactics to get in behind us.
So, as I had audio only, do you all reckon it's worth me watching the second half tomorrow then when it becomes available on iFollow?
It was good but I don’t think I could ever watch a full half of football when I know the result. It was a very enjoyable half of football though.
I regularly watch them the next day, the away ones so I can see it and the home ones (back when we could go) so I can hear the commentary. I've followed us via Matt's commentary for almost 25 years (until the last 4 or 5 where I see half of them - the home games - live and the Radio Sheffield year) so I like to catch up on it. If we win of course.
For me, that was probably our best win of the season. The performance in the second half was as good as I've seen at this level for quite a few years, especially when taking into account the quality of the opposition and how much they cost to assemble. These lads never know when they're beaten, but the quality of our football at times today was particularly impressive and of the highest order. Yet again, we come back from a losing position to win and this cannot be ignored. What a squad and Head Coach we've got. I'm one very happy Red tonight.
