Bradders off to Millwall

He’s not played for us in League 1, a league he has previously excelled in. It was a difficult season for most of our players last season, particularly the lone forwards. He has scored some good and important goals in his 2 seasons with us. Why sell someone go who can produce at this level, and spend the money to buy someone who can hopefully score at this level?

 

Not a chance we’ve been offered anywhere near £2 million. My guess is £300k. If they go to half a million he’ll probably be off. We sold Sam Winnall for less!

 

No , I would not see it as a good return , if you already have a proven striker who could help fire you back to the championship , then to sell him & look for a forward of the same standard to do the job , would cost us the same if not more, yet we already know Bradshaw can do it at this level , so why gamble on a replacement , its pointless

 

So he bangs in twenty next season, we still don't get promoted and he leaves to the championship for nothing when his contract runs out in 12 months time. He isn't going to sign a new contract with us when many championship clubs supposedly want him.

 

I still can't believe Chien Lee did that.

 

Millwall offered , according to the Star £800 , 000 , if you think we can replace him with a gamble who can get more goals than Bradsaw for that kind of money , I would be amazed & if he bangs in 20 goals next season & we do not go up , then its not because of him we have failed, because he will have done his job

Of course not l was taking the piss with £2 million based on the fact they have already turned down two £1 million bids for Moore who wasn't worth anywhere near the money we paid for him.

What's Cryne selling Winnall got to do with Chien Lee & Co.?

 

It says in the star £600, 000 but transfers have gone through the roof in the last 2 years , so to buy a player who was valued at £600 k two years ago, would cost a lot more now

 

Some transfers have gone through the roof. Doesn't mean it will cost us £2m to replace tom Bradshaw. Most League One teams would not be able to contemplate spending £600k on a striker.

 

True, but if Bradshaw is being courted by Championship clubs then he his deemed to be Championship class , my point is, that if you want to replace him with someone of the same quality it will cost a lot of candy but as he is under contract to us , lets use him to do the job , after all , it can be reviewed in january

 

Bit torn on this one. Think I'm right in saying he's the only outfield player we have who has produced the goods consistently for a whole season or more in the top half/upper reaches of Div 1.

But at the same time we’ve rejected all bids and he’s been proper negative about the club “selling.” Give em a chance before slagging em off and completely assuming the worst without any substance for Christ sake

I think just from the way it looks, we probably need to have someone lined up to replace him before we sell/let go another player - traffic is all one-way at the minute. I wouldn't be bothered if he went, as long as there's a plan to replace him.

 

Of course he will go. And i can't blame him. He has to look after himself and he is good enough for the championship. It's just a case of how much, same with Moore.

Good we're turning bids down, but in 12 months he walks for nothing, and there is zero guarantee we go up at the first attempt. Gambling and "ambition" aren't interlinked.

 

They`ll hev shitloads of strikers lined up ont spreadsheet but thats not same as gerrin em through dooer.

But for all we are supposed to live in a liberal tolerant society. The acceptance of an alternative view from the social "norm" is not tolerated... Which is one of the darker sides to Socialism... verging on National Socialism the group mentality is more important than individual... And must be shouted down at all costs.
You can't have it both ways... ether you are tolerant of other people or you are not, you cannot pick and choose... or you can, but then what makes you different from the people you despise?.. it is then just your prejudices against theirs.. No different than looking in the mirror..

I want Barnsley FC to succeed as much as anyone, but where some differ is acceptance of anything the club puts forward in a ..spoon fed.. kind of way. Some will voice an objection. I believe that going with the yoof policy we adopted under PC and now under the new ownership. is for the fans a raw deal. It is solely for the owners, so they don't have to put money in and enhance any profit. While the fans get short changed by having to watch sub-standed wantabee's And if we do get a couple of decent players out of the scatter-gun transfer policy. They will be sold on to pay for the privilege
I can understand.. but dint agree with PC doing it with him going it alone... But a group of billionaires coming in and still carrying on the... lets go with yoof policy.. I think personally is a sell out to the fans..

I like Tom Bradshaw if if we are to bounce back at the first attempt it is vital we keep him.. even if it means he walks for now't at the end of the season... A show of intent by the board right up to the closer of the window is needed. Despite what some think I am a fair minded person and if the new board shows good intention, I will acknowledge it... but if they don't that will be mentioned as well..
