What value would you sell Bradshaw for? Anything close to £2m or more, as long as we have a suitable replacement lined up, then I’d say we’ve done alright. Suppose it depends just how much Stendel wants him to stay, and just how much Bradshaw is pushing for this move.
Keep reading and hearing that Stendel has more of a say in transfers in and out. Obviously the board ultimately decide, but I imagine if Stendel says he’s irreplaceable then the fee wanted will be a lot lot higher than if he was to think he could get better from the players on offer from the recruitment team.
Found out that a bid was accepted at 600k plus 200k in add ons, Tom was on the move even though he was enjoying life up here. Landlord was selling the property he lived in in Oughtibridge and Millwalls training ground is a few mins away from his in laws, his missus is pregnant so being near her parents was beneficial, so it was all looking likely. Then came along Mr Stendel who went to the owners and said "we're crackers to sell him, what type of a message does that send out", luckily the owners were at the first game, straight after the game they told Stendel he's going nowhere.
You’ve got to remember - some on here will have you believe Stendel is only the coach - he is not the manager - and as such he has no say whatsoever in who we sign or who we keep. Looooolllllll !!!!!!
He went with the line of "your model is stats based, look at his stats if it was the other way round you would be buying him" Didn't Hecky have the same arguments with Cryne but always lost? Whats the difference? £14,000,000,000?
Seems strange. Why would we accept such a low offer. If they had trebled it maybe it would have had the manager and board something to discuss.
Fair enough. I can’t get my head around the Bradshaw accepted fee, that is absolute peanuts in today’s market. I suppose his contract situation will have played a part in the decision but it’s still crackers to me. I mean how much would it cost for us to have replaced him?
Thanks for sharing and it makes me realise 2 things. 1 thank goodness those making the decisions listen to the manager and 2. Those willing to sell Bradshaw for £600k shouldn’t make any more decisions! I do believe the “head coach” needs final say on all playing staff decisions - except if a decision is simply too good for the clubs long term viability and interest.
All the media reports suggested an offer had been turned down, so l think they had told Tom the offer was going to be accepted but not formally gone to Millwall. Good to see the coach has some balls.
Strange one is Bradshaw. Difficult to put a value on a player like him going back into the championship. Goal average of 1 in 4 last season with few or no assists and doesn't create goals for himself, doesn't run away from a defender and rarely takes on a shot from anywhere outside the area. In short, you have to pick him out in the penalty area, which is no easy job against championship defenders. Millwall aren't well off enough to fork out millions for that type of player. He might not be first choice.
With respect Gordon where did you get your information. Cos I don't believe anything on here regarding transfers and monies involved until they happen. Then with scepticism regards monies involved.
Me too. When Kayden Jackson is going for twice that... it's madness. I realise Bradshaw is out-of-contract soon but bloody hell. The one change I thought/hoped we'd get is that buying clubs no longer have our pants down. I guess fans always think their own clubs sell too cheaply, but we really do. We need to not be a soft touch. Right, you violent Miwwoww cahnts. Every season we stay in League One is £6million off our bottom line. You need to be paying at least that or his contract runs down with us, at which point he will have offers at least as attractive as you. Cough up or go away. That sort of thing.
With respect Hooky, there is very rarely an official statement on transfers and the monies involved. If you have ever believed anything it is likely to have been speculation or a leak from a source “in the know”. I doubt Gordon will expose his own source just because you are sceptical.
