    British I reckon. When I'm abroad and someone asks me where I'm from I'm more likely to say England but there's never a time when I specifically think of the term 'English'. I fill in forms ticking that I'm British, I see the British flag during Olympics and just generally on social media a lot, it says Britain on my passport, etc. but I hardly ever see the England flag or the term 'English'. I guess the only time I really think of myself as specifically from England is during the World Cup but even then I still want the other British countries to do well and root for them.

    I'm British. I'm a Brit.
    To me that means I am from the British Isles
    This island has Scottish, English, Welsh and the Northern part of Ireland people as inhabitants.

    We can always argue amongst ourselves.and with good reason, but when we are threatened we are a combined force to be reckoned with

    The English are those that live south of Watford Gap. Personally see myself as a Yorkshireman first then a European.

    For me, I'm British, then I'm Yorkshire followed by English. In a lot of ways I identify with the Welsh, Scottish and Irish closer than with the south east. Different world down there.

    You can identify as you like Tosh.

    i just can't see how it's logical to identify with firstly a county that does not hand out identity, and then secondly a continent that soon won't be bothered about your identity.

    I never said it was logical but Yorkshire people are supposedly noted for putting their county first before country and Yorkshire was still part of Europe the last time I looked.

    Yorkshire is part of the world, if you want to expand your horizons beyond Europe.

    Europe doesn't tend to be represented in the games / tournaments that we all get interested in from time to time.

    Come to think of it, apart from cricket, Yorkshire don't too.

    So perhaps you sit on the sofa cheering everyone on in e.g. the Euros

    You're always on a winner there!
