Club is contractor and bus company is subcontractor, so responsibility lies with club, although the club might try to recoup any costs from the bus company.
I wasn't knocking it. The club could easily have his behind the supplier like some would. They also didn't have to compensate fans with drinks
Yes whatever it cost our board to sort taxis and a coach home they should be able to recoup easily off the coach company so they aren't out of pocket.
You're right of course, but then Curry's would return the faulty item to Sony so would only be out of pocket administrative costs(chance are they haven't paid anything for the TV at this point as it would be applied on terms). Same thing with the club/coach company. The fans have a contract with the club, so it is them that have to rearrange the service paid for. But the club would have a contract with the coach company, so should refund the cost of another coach to the club. Of course, the extra costs like takes and food and drink(basically anything above the cost of the coach would be stood by the club. Whatever, that's cracking customer service and I'm sure in the past it's not always been that way!
Question of timing though. The fans stuck at Northampton services would have had to hang around for a lot longer waiting for a replacement bus to come from Barnsley so it makes sense to engage local taxis to do the job. It's not like going on holiday where a few hours late doesn't matter. Timing was critical here.
