I dont see the problem - just think of the advantages, we can solve the shortage of doctors and nurses by going back to having them work 120 hour weeks like before the annoying limits were imposed.

Im looking forwards to phase 2 we can get rid of stupid rules for equal pay for Women so they can take their rightful place by the kitchen sink.
And maybe re-introduce child labour as that will save the corporations loads as they also clearly would be paid less. That would have the benefit of solving the teacher shortage, as the kids from poor families would need to be working rather than wasting time being taught skills they will never need.

Don’t forget pesky holidays for part time and agency workers. Who needs them?

Aye, let's get back to victorian times when Great Britain truly ruled the world, exploiting people at home and abroad, extracting every last penny out of them without any care for health and wellbeing. It really put the Great in Great Britain. Well it did for the privelaged few, it was **** Britain for the vast majority.

I have always maintained (to anyone that would listen) right from the very beginning of the referendum campaign that the main aim of the Tory right was to further diminish British workers rights and strengthen the grip of the establishment over ordinary people. I also predicted trouble over the Irish border - this is nowhere near sorted out yet, the DUP will put a spanner in the works of any agreement which involves the Republic gaining anything however insignificant. The one thing I can't get my head round is the fact that Labour under Corbyn are happy to let the Tories get on with it. Their only token opposition is based around petty party politics and point scoring.

A few articles from the Irish press that suggest the Irish Govt haven't handled things well despite Varadkars initial bluster.

Doesn’t seem overly critical to me. Who cares what the DUP thinks other than the Uk govt.

No one's going to leave the EU in order to strike a deal with Russia. I think we'll look back at this era as the lowest point of the rollback of workers rights in the UK, there will be a negative economic impact from Brexit, Labour already lead the Tories by 10 points, once the economy suffers further unless he drops the ball Corbyn is an absolute shoe-in. Workers rights will be restored, mark my words.

I can't see how you've come to that conclusion....without referring to them now, the general tone is that Varadkars late 'change of heart' and Simon Coveney's pre emptive leak have destabilised the issue and at best has not been helpful.
It's clear that the authors of those articles recognise that the Irish Govt needs to care what the DUP think.

People speculating about losing holiday rights etc... We in the UK have more favourable legislation than other countries within the EU.. These haven't been scrapped by the Tories or Labour in their respective terms of office.. Speculation, pure speculation.

No it isn’t. Gove is pushing it through the cabinet. The WTD directive gave 7 million part time/ agency workers holidays whereas UK law did not. When the tories repeal it they will revert back to no holiday rights. It’s a myth generally perpetuated by the right wing media that our laws offer more than that offered by the WTD. Still the turkeys voted for Christmas so more fool them.

Are the DUP in any sort of power in NI? I know they are the govt in England but not in NI. All those commentators are as ‘independent’ as say Dacre’s mouthpieces in England. As for the hard border issue it is our issue not ROI we just ignored it whilst cheerleading Farage and Murdoch as they ‘saved’ us from elites.

Let’s benchmark this. Prior to the Ref I was in conferences that Priti Patel and Johnson spoke at they were both clear and open that they saw leaving the EU as a chance to diminish employment conditions and in particular scrap the WTD.

Just like Keir Starmer, one minute saying saty in the single market.. next minute leave the single market.....
It's all specualtion and a couple of people making noise. Didn't George Osbourne say if we voted to leave the EU, the next budget would be a crisis budget....lies/speculation whatever you want to call it... Commons wouldn't allow the WTD to be scrapped.. there's probably quite a few tories that would also vote to keep it so it would never make it through.. So yes it's pure speculation.
