It's an opinion based on what I had the misfortune to witness during his tenure. The most pedestrian, turgid toss I have seen at Oakwell. Based on his propensity for nine match winless runs I'm certain it would have all gone wrong again. My opinion Gary. You are entitled to yours. Which is also not based on fact.
My opinion does not seek to spout facts however, unlike yours. Plus, a corner seemed to have been turned by the time he left. Anyway, there we go. Perhaps I don't get quite so bitter about things. Who's this Gary btw?
My feeling with little Lee, is that at some point along the way he would have tinkered with the formation and we would have fallen short. In his first season he took heckys winning side and tinkered endlessly with his one up top. We ended up winning 1 from our last 10 games. The following season he was losing for fun but still insisted that 2 up top was out dated and couldn't understand our obsession with it. Even after he started winning he still couldn't help himself in the first leg of the JPT, and we struggled to a draw with Fleetwood at home.
Anybody tells me he's any good, and my reply is: "Altrincham." I was there. Altrincham deserved it. Plus getting loved eight times in a row, with three of the culprits being Fleetwood, Crewe and Shrewsbury. It was a nice tweet by him yesterday. Doesn't mean he's any better at managing than anyone you could drag off the street. I wish him all the worst. I'll never forgive him for Altrincham. Or that striker from Swindon, or Connor Wilkinson, or persisting with the other George Williams when the poor bugger was miles out of his depth, or Dan Crowley.
Haha. Game over. Let the slide down the table continue after what's hopefully a good pasting tonight.
Ray Houghton doing commentary "play the ball forwards - don't go backwards and square". That's our Johnno. The conman.
Altrincham yeah it was *****. But it was only just better than Chester at home the previous season or getting beat by Crawley at home ******* Crawley!!! Or getting out played by chesterfield,Donny,Walsall,Notts county the season before under wilson. He can't be that bad of a manager he is young he hasn't spent a fortune at Bristol compared to others in the championship but he has them challenging for promotion will be a premiership manager one day I think.
He was, and still is, a young manager learning his trade. He also, like Mansford, had the misfortune to be good with words. There's sum as don't like that rarnd ere.
Altrincham were relegated to the Conference North that season. We knocked Chester out. The other teams you mention were all in the same division as us. Absolutely no comparison.
We struggled to beat Chester the football was just as ****. If he was such a **** coach he wouldn't have Bristol fighting for promotion.
