I have purposely kept away from the BBS for a couple of months so as not to annoy some folk. I apologise to one and all for many of my posts.

I just could not believe that such a level of investors would ever come in for a "team like Barnsley".
I have watched the press conference through twice and can only think that Patrick has come good on his word and found us new owners/investors that will fit our way of running the club. Reading between the lines I felt that they were more than happy with Hecky and his staff to remain in charge, which for me is good news. I also think they are going to bring in extra players to keep us afloat in the Championship this season. I would be more than happy to see us a permanent team in the championship and among the better ones too. But I got the impression that they want to take us higher than that, but I do not believe they are going to try to fast track us to the heights and it will be a longer term development process.

Finally an individual apology to Micky Finn, I owe it to him.

Welcome back, we all should look forward now.
BTW way Tarn hall steps are a nice site this time of year with the trees lit up and the fountains. Don’t spoil it.

Do ladies of the night still do business on the town hall steps. Not sure they ever did. Was just a saying I used to hear when I was a kid and have always associated the town hall steps as a working area ;)

The comic "Preacher" featured a bit part character who was a "sexual detective", who started his career on Barnsley Town Hall steps. This character has yet to make the tv series.

You've kept away for a couple of months so you didn't annoy people? What about the other two decades where you've been annoying us all?:p:p:p

    Well in, DT.

Without trying to have a go at you, can you explain why you were SO adamant that it was not going to happen?

its a case of "teams like Barnsley" I think even Hecky said he thought that thing is like this do not happen to us. I could not believe a multi Billionaire consortium would ever look at us. I hoped all along it was gonna happen , but as the time dragged on I could not help but feel it was a myth. However it has happened and I am chuffed about. First impresions from the Press conference seem very good. But time will tell. I am certainly not expecting any fast track investment to rase us to the top , a steady development will do for me. The way we going about it before the take over was the right way, but we lacked a bit of cash. I hope they will allow us some spending power to bring in some better players. The future is both exciting and intriguing to say the least
