Flat in tarn, speaks perfect English, reyt lad. http://www.barnsleychronicle.com/ar...ring-overseas-network-and-marketing-expertise
But someone read on Twitter then posted on here that he can't speak English, so that must be true? Welcome to the lad, it seems we've thought much more long and hard about this appointment than we did with Linton Brown. Hopefully the results will be different. Sent from my WAS-LX1A using Tapatalk
Must be an intelligent guy given how quickly he rose through the ranks at Lens. Also good to hear that he's worked in London and Leeds and his wife is Scottish so he's not completely new to the UK. He's even already seen us play.
Wish him every success.. He will be judged on his results like everyone else.. We have no choice than to look abroad for players, when we are being priced out of L2 and even non-league players.. So its thumbs up from me... good move
Good read re: new CEO. Could form important links with European players. In saying that - the present recruitment team at Oakwell has proved they are brilliant at what they do.
I thought our transfer policy was to only sign people under 25? Boo. Rubbish. He'll be gone by January any way if he's any good. On a serious note sounds good. Talks le talk well. Sounds like good pedigree. Sure some will be cursing some good news coming out of Oakwell towers this week.
He might be just what we need in my opinion. It's no secret that we have needed to tighten up the marketing side of things, and a young, modern thinking CEO from another footballing culture could bring the new ideas that can make a difference. Also, the recruitment plan we have in place, might work even better by bringing players from mainland Europe who wont attract the "premium" that English players seem to have....
Wasn't BS Ben only about 31 when he joined? We need an unorthodox recruitment strategy to compete with the financial disparity in the league so recruiting a "been there done it" 50 year-old is unlikely to work for us.
