Before Orsen turns up and puts me in the shade, here are a few for Boxing Day.

1.15 Kempton - Hold The Note. A rarity at this level that a horse is still a novice in its second year of chasing, but some bad luck and a poorly thought out step up in trip means this guy is. Anything around 7s is excellent value, and the form of his Cheltenham run in the spring is very strong.

3.00 - The Main Event! Cyrname v Clan. Clan has been and done it twice before. Cyrname has threatened greatness. Santini has made the market and won't be in the first three imo - so I'll be having a good poke at Cyrname at anything around 2s.

Still looking at the Welsh National - that'll be tomorrow's job when I'm full of Turkey.

Good luck to anyone having a flutter over Christmas.

    Over to you Mr. Kaht.

Bang with you on Cyrname, Fonzie. Highest rated horse in the race (Timeform and official ratings) and he's had a much better prep going in to this race. The Big Breakaway (1.50) has to be better than he showed at Exeter (race didn't suit). I'm interested in Nicky Henderson's Go Sacre Go (12.40) and Barbados Blue (3.35). He and Nico De Boinville have a 28% strike rate at Kempton. Rose of Arcadia should go very well at Wincanton (12.25). Joe Tizzard rates it their best chance of a winner on Boxing Day. Best of luck!

I like that bet. Epatante is as near as you'd get to a cert, so I think that's a nice bit of leverage for a tilt at Cyrname!

I'm on Clan des Obeaux for a hattrick of wins in the King jud remember its a 3 mile race I think Cyrname is better at 2mile 5 the distance it beet Altior I also think the Tizzard horse Lostintranslation will run a big race E/W 9/1 last show.

Have to agree UTC that if showing his best form Lostintranslation would be right in the mix. Nothing wrong with his Gold Cup third, but he had a couple of poor runs either side of that. What's interesting is that although they have Lostintranslation and The Big Breakaway with decent chances in the Grade 1's at Kempton, Joe Tizzrd unhesitatingly said that their best chance of a winner on Boxing Day was Rose of Arcadia at Wincanton. I took 9/4 with Bet365 and he's now in to 2/1 with them. But only 13/8 best elsewhere. So I'd be having 365's 2/1. If it doesn't go in we'll have to blame Joe!

Best bet of the Christmas period is Pulis to be gone before New Year's Day.
    You heard it here first!!!

Away to Blackburn tomorrow, then home to Warnock's Boro and then Rooney's Derby. Hmm!

I backed Rose Of Arcadia for the mares novice at the Feaitval at 25s at the start of the season because I'd heard it was special. It then finished 4th on debut and drifted to 40s. I always was a shrewd judge. Hopefully she hacks up today and gets back on track!

That's very interesting, Fonzie. Cheveley Park seem to have come to the jumps game only recently, but they don't run any rubbish. Ballyadam and Envoi Allen look red hot for Cheltenham too. But at any rate, it makes Rose of Arcadia of even more interest for tomorrow. I've gone in again while it's still 2's. And there might be worse nibbles than that 40's for Chelters!

I think on balance that Clan Des Obeaux is the most likely winner of the King George largely because of what upc said. I think he's just marginally better than Cyrname. Tight call though. On another note I have had a small bet on Tel'art in the 3.35 race. When I first analysed this I thought he was one of the top 3-4 horses in it given current form over the distance. He has certainly improved and although there could very well be some improvement from others I still think he's undervalued in the market. On the exchange he is currently 60.0 to win (I took 80.0 yesterday morning) so the prospect of him placing at least, especially with the exchanges doing extra places on the day of the race, looked distinctly feasible. I didn't let the big price put me off either which can be a doubt-raiser sometimes. Small stakes win and place. Have a look.

Well I cant put you off after what I suggested but I don't think he's prolific enough over hurdles. I can see where you're coming from if he has a good run and performs to his best but I think the bigger threats are Ecco, Push The tempo and Barbados Blue if he improves. I'll stick with mine as an each way though. Good luck if you've stuck money on

I'm just looking at a possibly tasty little double on the two Irish Grade One novice chases with Felix Desjy (2.15 Leopardstown) and Asterion Forlonges (2.35 Limerick). Some would say you'd be mad to be doubling novice chasers up at short prices but both represent the powerhouse Irish jumps stables of Elliot and Mullins and at >4/1 for the double you don't have to splash too much! Particularly interesting that Paul Townend goes to Limerick instead of the big Leopardstown Christmas meet.

Both got big chances those two Mr Kaht. Don't forget to have a go on the ITV7 as well-doesn't cost you anything and someone will probably win it...

Thought this would be an appropriate thread to mention that Paddy power are offering a free bet to all customers today, to use on any sport.
