2 good signings in January, McBurnie & Moore. Much needed.

Rest was a disaster & has jeopardised our chances of staying up.
That includes loaning out 3 central midfielders & leaving us short on cover & not signing a keeper.

Knasmullner & Mahoney must have been scouted by Stevie Wonder.

It wasn't in the benefit of either party to keep any of those 3 midfielders. Would have been no benefit to have any sat on the bench.

Knasmullner was well worth a punt given his record. Surely none of us have seen enough of him to remotely make a judgement?

From what others have posted on here, then, he shouldn't feel out of place!

You just beat me to it. Not many of our current squad seem able to do 90 mins. Not just a 'end of season' thing either, some have looked exhausted after 70 mins all season.
There should be a clause in their contracts that if they can't get match fit within say a couple of months, they drop to half wage (or something). Must be one of the few jobs that you can get away with not doing your job for so long.

Maybe not, but I think thats where the problem is. We haven't seen much of him at all and we want to know where he is now exactly, both in fitness and mentality. Have we made a mistake in signing him and does he feel the same in signing for us etc.

He will probably judge it by the size of his bank account

Strange, if we are suddenly so unfit, how we managed to net in injury time in our last two home games & get 4 points

I don’t think Potts was such a bad buy. Bolton we’re going nowhere on Saturday until he went off and after that it was all them. We don’t have a holding midfielder when we are in front. If we’d had Williams we would have won.

Disagree. Bird or McGeehan on for last 20 a lot better for closing players down than anyone we have in the squad. I'd seriously think about using Pearson in that role if we have no one else. If we are chasing the game use Mallan or Hedges.

McGeehan has only been getting sub appearances anyway for Scunthorpe who are pushing for promotion.

He may as well have been training with Barnsley and having sub minutes here.

I thought he didn't look too bad with us to be honest- no worse than our other midfielders but just as inconsistent. I remember him scoring against Boro and spraying some nice passes against Millwall earlier in the season

I'm aware of all that. If Potts is out we may need to play Moncur & Mallan from the start, with Gardner. Who do you bring on in Midfield in a local derby at Elland Road, when they are both blowing after 60 mins? Ideas on a postcard.

I agree. For me would have been McGeehan for sure.... Knasmullner now I suppose (if Potts is out)

I think someone out of position, like Pearson, or even Hammill might be better than the mystery man from Austria. As far as I know he's a number 10, not a defensive midfielder.

I still think that it is a mystery that a player we bought in order to enhance the squad with creativity and goals from midfield seems just to have disappeared off the radar. No comment about his availability on the club website. 'No new injury worries' doesn't tell us anything. If he wasn't fit enough on coming in, he ought to be by now. if he is injured, why don't we know?

Only the same scenario as Mallan when you think about it.

He'll be next season's Conor Hourihane. You heard it here first.

Apparently he's been poor in training.
