We automatically extended it by a year to allow him to play through the extended season. So it will run out June 2021. I thought there had been some discussions but were suspended until they reported back.
I'd take them all with a pinch of salt to be honest. But I also do think we'll have wasted large amounts of whats already a small budget.
Not sure I believe most of them figures, I’d be astonished if Radlinger was on so much considering we signed him after he had been 3rd or 4th choice keeper for Hanover for so long. Also that website loses a bit of credibility for listing Simoes as 29 years old.
Yeah I'm sure those figures aren't bang on - especially looking at 8k for Radlinger - but the point still stands, some nice weight off of the wage bill there. Looking at maybe Bahre, Green, Victor to leave this summer too. Hopefully some budget to play with!
Alex is due a pay rise based on those figures. Best player at the club should have a wage that matches.
If there were some truth to those figures, the first thing I’d do is give Mowatt a bigger and better contract. Now that we have Radlinger, McGeehan, Pinillos, Wilks and others off the wage bill that gives us an opportunity to possibly double Mowatt’s wages and bring in 3 or 4 additions with the money we’ll be saving. I know there’s small minority that don’t rate Mowatt but imo he’s the heartbeat of this side. Sure he’s not the quickest and doesn’t chip in with enough goals, but he grafts his balls off every game and regarding distribution to his teammates he was statistically one of the best in the league. Can he be the next Hourihane? Probably not. But can he be a club legend in his own right? Absolutely. With a promotion and a relegation survival to his name, he’s certainly on the right path.
IMO - Mowatt is the best player at the club in that pivotal role. That dosen’t mean to say that that position in the team does not need improvIng - and that’s basically because that position is so important that other players around it heavily rely on it. Get someone in there that can pass the ball quicker and more accurately and all the young players in the team will come on leaps and bounds.
I get what you’re saying, but players like you’re describing are hard to find for a club like ours with our budget. You’ll only find players like that at the so called ‘big’ clubs. They command high transfer fees and astronomical wages.
https://footballleaguefc.com/wolverhampton-wanderers-2019-20-player-wages/ Just because I had nothing to do had a look at a couple of PL wages. Rui Patricio 100K a week. For a Goalkeeper....
Dean Henderson at Man Utd is on verge of signing a new contract worth 100k a week and at minute he’s only going to be second fiddle to De Gea who himself is apparently on 375k a week. Utter madness!
I presumed they had missed the "K" off the end of Ludewig's weekly salary Can't be on £130 a week surely, or is that what we were paying his parent club?
