Yeah the slagging off, of Cosgrove has been appalling on here. And I've been sarcy against him as well, I admit.
Even if Sam's performances have let him down at times, I think it really comes down to game time, and being given a proper regular match start.

Completely agree mate. And there's a difference between genuine constructive criticism and satire, and downright abuse or just being a bit of a nasty dick. Hes not had a proper run of games, at all, and I think he's shown in glimpses, with some proper game time in the right system, he will definitely perform for us next season.

    Fingers crossed anyway mate!

Yeah Frog, if we try to keep the best of what we have right now, and just try to build on it (instead of selling again).
And as for Sam here, and play him properly (and that goes for a lot of players)... then who knows ehh.

I'd forgotten about this. Not sure if the BEIN Sports commentator was the same on as Sky but when Barnsley were making the triple change the commentator laid into Cole for having his arms folded while waiting to come on. I thought that was odd (he wasn't slouched or anything) but it is something our fans would say about him not having the right attitude.

As for Cosgrove, these playoff games we've seen the Cosgrove we all hoped he would be. Where has that performance been all season? I know he hasn't been starting but even so. He does have a touch that makes Big Vic look like Messi though. That run by Cole was excellent, only for big Sam to chest it to the keeper.

Cole was born with a silver spoon in footballing terms and I think that sometimes comes across.

I still maintain my opinion ,that Cole should have been sold in January and Cozzy becomes first choice, his goal return I'm 100% sure would have been more than 1.
Cole gets its free move now trebles his wages .
And we miss out on the automatic which I think we would have acheived.
    Tin hat on ready.

Easy to say that I remember post saying if we sell Cole we have no ambition etc probably the same fans booing Cole last Friday though. Club can't win.

His dad was exactly the same though & he didn’t have a silver spoon. Just naturally miserable I think!

I’ve said a few times on here that I don’t think Cole & McAtee are a natural partnership & that I prefer a big man but we have to be honest about Cosgrove & admit he’s been disappointing over the course of the season.

He’s had loads of chances too. Even when he doesn’t start he normally gets at least 30 minutes on the pitch & he’s given away so many silly free kicks when he showed last night he can be physical without fouling his opponent.

The balls in his court now, he’s shown he can do it against one of the best sides in the league so let’s hope he kicks on next season.

I've always thought there's a useful player in there, but he must learn to use his strength to play football rather than give needless free kicks away by incessantly wrestling with defenders. Last night was a good case in point when Santos went to head the ball into touch...giving us a throw near the penalty area...Cosgrove shoved him for no apparent reason and immediately took the pressure off them by giving a dumb free kick away.

He's the next Victor - not good enough for Barnsley, leaves for another L1 team and helps get them promoted while we stay put.

My mate I'm working with this morning thought Cosgrove should have had his hat trick there looked like the defender took the ball behind him but I haven't watched it back.
