That is a relief. We stand a good chance of doing OK this season. I think it will be inevitable a few will go in the summer, but that is our business model I guess.
"Some clubs will have to make some money in January by whatever means necessary but we don’t find ourselves in that position.”
selling puppies is the way,lad I know sold 12 labradoodles made 25 grand , we could breed some in the east stand concourse
I sincerely hope he's right: Barnsley chief executive Dane Murphy says it wouldn’t ‘make sense’ to sell any star players in the upcoming January transfer window Murphy told the Chronicle: “This group has earned the right to have a full season together and to see how far they can go.
Sell Styles for £10-12 million and that will fund two to three quality additions and that's how the club takes the next step.
I think you’re right. The next level of our plan is where Brentford are already at. Where we are established more, so we can plan longer term and also command higher figures for players, whilst re-investing that into higher quality new signings. That’s how we’ll grow and maintain to be self-sustainable. Southampton are the next level up from Brentford. Selling players and managers to survive. But also reinvesting big sums back into the squad - whilst playing decent football.
"Wheres the bloody Styles money gone" "I dont care that Liverpool offered £120,000 a week, he was under contract - a 4 year one, we held all the cards. CONWAY OUT" "£10m and they still don't switch the ******* tvs on" "
Great stuff Dane. Good positive interview. Doubt that it will silence the n'er sayers on here but for the majority of us it's good to hear the plan for the immediate future re player comings and goings.
