Daniel's side of the story

I know who I believe.

 

Herewith I want to respond to the statement of FC Barnsley. I experienced the people in Barnsley as honest and straight forward and therefore would like to present my point of view:

I am disappointed to see that the owners of Barnsley Football Club has today chosen to release a statement about my departure from the club, which contains a number of factual inaccuracies.

During my entire time at Barnsley I gave my full commitment, energy and passion for the club and their supporters. I always put the sporting results of Barnsley first and always tried to achieve the very best results that were possible. We had a fantastic last season in League 1, securing promotion to the Championship, playing some very entertaining football.

The start to this season was very difficult though, with the club being unable to retain several key players from the promotion team and couldn’t replace these experienced players. I always remained committed and accepted all the decisions of the Board during my entire time - including the decision to terminate my contract with immediate effect. At the day of my dismissal I wasn't informed about any detailed reasons.

The week before my dismissal I asked for an open discussion about the sporting situation with a Board Member, during which none of the reasons that apparently led to my dismissal were raised as complaints. I was always honest and documented strongly that I wanted to continue to work with the team in order to achieve the goals of the club. I was then dismissed after the disappointing defeat to Preston.

After the termination of my contract, I have made it clear that even then I was open to finding an amicable resolution in order to keep noise away from the team. But the club has refused to speak with me or my agent/my lawyer for nearly two weeks.

I am very disappointed about the way I have been treated by the owners of the club. I am an honest person and always wanted the best for the club. The people from Barnsley and the fans know that. I always was a fighter on and also next to the pitch and will also now fight for my rights. I do, however, wish all the players, the supporters , employees and the new manager the very best for the future. Daniel

He hasn’t actually denied the approaching of another club which is Conways main accusation.

Sooooooo (as conway keeps saying!) he was sacked....as i and several others heard , which also means hearts are correct to approach and appoint him.
Im really not sure i understand the whole compensation thing tbh.

 

Not sure what to make of the situation now.
However Daniel Stendel does not refute the main point of Paul Conway statement abut speaking to another championship club whilst still under contract to Barnsley FC which I thought he would have done. There is obviously no love lost between both parties. On the subject of Hearts paying compensation too there seems a contradiction from both parties too. The whole affair seems a very grey one rather than clear cut. Time will tell.

 

Am i right in assuming ....no clear indication was given for sacking him or just that no explanation detailing what he had meant to have done (and broken protocol) as the main reason?.....bizzare !
Surely, they would say we are terminating your employment beacause of this and this which is
in breach of the contract you signed????

 

Tbh what he said in the Garrison was similar to this. That there had been no warning and he'd gone in that day with plans to move results forward.

 

Surprised he could be sacked for disciplinary reasons rather than results without a disciplinary process

 

I think many people would have been tempted to do the same given how the summer went

 

What club did he say he was talking to ?

That's a very long statement without denying what Conway is claiming.

 

He’s said he’s always been loyal to Barnsley and respected owners decisions so kind of denied the accusation BUT even if he did. I can’t blame him. Nobody knows how the owners treated him. All I know is he asked to offer contracts to our key players and then when they left he asked for experience for replacements. They’ve said no. Don’t like it f... off. I’ve seen roguey owners but this lot conway etc...are on another level.

 

Wonder if he as gone to Scotland as they are hell-bent in stopping in Europe

 

I think it was more Whitey getting him used to the cameras on the matchday recaps as they're doing a fly on the wall documentary!
