It would defiantly divide the fans if he was appointed back as manager. I've lost my Wilson tinted specs so it's a no from me but I'm sure some would be over the moon.
Danny for me made the mistake last time of not bringing Frank Barlow with him as his assistant... I don't think he was given enough time second time around and like has been pointed out, he signed some of the ones that turned out the best for us. Could be there to work with the academy of course, must be a bit short of coaching staff at Oakwell following Hecky's departure.
Ye I didn’t seem to sound like I was having a go, it’s just a stat I hate. It’s like me or you could take over Man City tomorrow & statistically we’d be in there too 4 managers of all time
Hemmings was in all likelihood a spreadsheet signing. Lalkovic possibly Wilson, possibly spreadsheet. Not sure. Lawrence & Woods probably Wilson signings. Frimpong & Proschwitz along with Shea had all the markings of players offered to us by agents that the club decided to take a punt on. In theory all three should’ve been desperate to impress in a World Cup year. Obviously didn’t work out that way
Lita awful signing. Turnbull decent for 3 months before he tried to play with a back injury in December & January. Reece Brown was probably a spreadsheet signing, young, ex-Man Utd. Treacy a Wilson signing no doubt. I don’t think he deserves any stick for that one though. The fans were almost unanimous in seeing that as a good signing. He should’ve been along with Jennings the best pair of wingers in the league. I don’t think Danny or any of us could’ve expected him to suffer from depression & fall out of love with the game & want to move back to Ireland
I Don't think Reece Brown would have been a spreadsheet signing. The spreadsheet highlights players based on attributes for example Conor was Plymouths top scorer from midfield and had the most assists in league 2. Reece brown had just been released by watford, he was also on trial at the club before Wilson signed him
You might be right then, just with his age & where he’d played I thought the system might have picked him up
