    <div class="firstpara" id="ViewArticle1_divFirstPara">BARNSLEY are considering offering Danny Cadamarteri a month-to-month contract, chairman Gordon Shepherd has revealed.</div>
    <div class="bodytext" id="ViewArticle1_divPageText" style="FONT-SIZE: 11px">Cadamarteri, who is a free agent following a six-month ban for failing a drugs test, could be available to make his debut a week tomorrow in the home game against Ipswich Town.
    There has been no progress on Barnsley offering a new deal to manager Andy Ritchie, extending his guaranteed employment at the club beyond this summer.
    &quot;He has got eight months to run on the current contract. We have got to focus on winning football matches,&quot; Shepherd stressed.
    &quot;If we were going to get rid of him we would have done that when Sheffield Wednesday called about him and we'd have got compensation then.&quot;
    Ritchie declined to comment on a meeting he had with Shepherd yesterday afternoon. &quot;I've a football match to win,&quot; he said.
    Meanwhile, striker Marc Richards has a sore thigh and it will be left until the 11th hour to decide whether he features in the squad at Crystal Palace.
    &quot;If he's not fully fit he won't play,&quot; Ritchie explained.
    Ritchie hinted last week that Daniel Nardiello could be in the starting line-up.
    &quot;He's got a good chance of starting, I have to make my mind up. We also have Paul Hayes available,&quot; he said.
    Nardiello has been an influential sub in the last two matches.
    Palace manager Peter Taylor goes into tomorrow's game under pressure. His team have under achieved despite buying big-money players like Shefki Kuqi (£2.5 million), Leon Cort (£1.5m), Scott Flinders (£1m) and James Scowcroft (£500,000).

    Meanwhile, Barnsley are reporting that they earned more than they spent in the financial year ended in May this year.
    A statement from Shepherd said: &quot;You will recall that the losses for the year ending 31 May 2004 were some £3,650,000 which reduced in the year ending 31 May 2005 to £1,240,000.
    &quot;This financial year has shown a massive improvement and I am pleased to report that our net losses have been reduced to £186,000.
    &quot;I am also delighted to say that this year the club has actually made a small operating profit of £128,000.&quot;
    He revealed that Barnsley received £350,000 for Flinders rising to another £600,000 depending on games played.
