Decent session for the English Bats men

Enlighten me , how have I put down the two best world class batsmen in my post 44 ?

 

One of the poorest days of test cricket for some time. Zero challenge to our two best batsmen. Chance for Cook to get a 300 the bowling is so poor.

Really really poor game and the empty stands are a telling indicator. A decent opponent and the stands fill easily at Edgbaston.

Never mind, Murdochs parrot will tell us what a wonderful spectacle it was. Obviously our own eyes will tell us the real truth.

Maybe in the true Edgbaston spirit of fancy dress, people turned up to mimic the Australia fans from the 2010/11 ashes ;-)

 

If that's true, then it proves how much of a joke the match is. I don't think there was a single point in the match that the stadium looked full.

If people who have paid good money for tickets can't be arsed to attend/stick around, then there is something wrong...

 

Every cricket game i've been to people aren't in the seat.

Not like yesterday. There were thousands of empty seats in every session yesterday.

Yes I DARE make comments like that. Yesterday featured the worst bowling attack I honestly think I've ever seen, and from reading online many others thought the same.

Then there is what every single person watching the match could see, that the crowds stayed away DESPITE having purchased tickets.

Now, because you know this and because you display traits that are consistent with autism/Aspergers and cant emphise with others views, you have to bring up the 90's to use as a "stick" to "beat" others that have opposing views like myself.

Yesterday's **** match and attendance was nothing to do with the 90's, so stop the disrespectful tone and listen to why people think yesterday was shocking for a game we love...

 

The match was full. It's full today. it's full tomorrow. Someone in this thread said he could only get tickets for the 4th day.

We are looking at another decent year for cricket across all formats. Thank the lord we aren't in the shitty late 90's when the attendances couldn't reach 500k on the regular.

 

Sadly I can't comment on most of this as I and the vast majority can't watch it as it is only transmitted on a minority TV channel. I dearly hope that one day I'll be able to put my feet up and watch a test match on TV again.

 

Theres a difference between selling out and the ground being full. The ECB will have been pulling their hair out yesterday because their first day/night match looked poorly attended. Sure, they will have been happy with the money taken, but this match was more about proving that day/night matches are the saviour of Test cricket.

I hope today is rammed as that means the play is more even/interesting...

P.S. Your obsession with 90's cricket attendances is yet another sign of a possible neurodevelopment development disorder like those already mentioned, and if this is the case then trying to get into arguments on a online forum isn't healthy for it...

 

Can I please suggest that you stick to challenging people's views rather than fancying your chances as some amateur quack.

Otherwise your own obsession with HT's apparent idiosyncracies may need a diagnosis of its own.

 

I'm simply using my own experience with the illness, as he displays almost identical traits to a family member that suffers with them too. Also, I'm fairly sure someone who has met him/knows him confirmed that he has something like was mentioned(although this may have been tongue in cheek. At no point have I been disrespectful to him, and I'm simply pointing it out as I don't like it when people personally attack him on here, and hopefully this will make people think twice.

I think it is a long stretch to consider Ali as being on par with Swann as a bowler just at the moment.
In addition the true test of his abilities against Australia isn't on advantageous English wickets but when he goes to their grounds in their conditions this winter. Lets see how he does and hope for the best.

 

BTW - I`d put Bairstow at 5 and move the others up 1 place.
