As an 8 year old it was ace...

Coming from a poor family Butlins was the only holiday we could afford. They had cable cars at Filey where Skeggy had a monorail i seem to remember.., The thing that sticks out are the number of full size snooker tables they had in the snooker hall... must have been over 100.

The resident snooker pro at Skeggy in the early 80's was Mike Hallett. They also had Ray Edmonds there for an exibition once, I played him (i was about 14). I broke off, he made a 50 odd break, i potted a red, then missed and he cleared up !!!! I can remember thinking... "kin'ell thought he'd give me a chance"

I once came third in a Tarzan competition at Filey.... beat that !!!

Worked during my University hols at Butlins in Minehead 1989. Was doing the late shift in the bar, so can't remember getting up before lunchtime most days!!.

All we had to spend money on was booze and fags and I still spent every penny.

    Happy days!.

I went to Skegness Butlins in 93. Can't remember any of that. Mind you, I was 21 and drunk for most of it. It was a college trip. Scored with a beatuiful girl, who I ended up going out with for 2 years. It was a great holiday.
