Thinks our best player is Joe Williams.

Thought it might have been Tyrone or someone else on day release.

He is. By quite some distance. If you don't think so I'd stop watching football as it's obviously not for you.

How often does he make something happen?

How often does he stop the other team from breaking at us because players like ******* Potts lose the ball further forward?

So our best player is one who doesn’t make anything happen, or at least anything positive? Says it all.

I quite like him but he’s not our best player.

So that makes him our best player does it? Chuff me.

See what I see or stop watching football. *****.

I might start watching more football. Or the same amount. Or maybe a little bit less. Depends how I feel at the time.

I think he's the best "stopping" midfielder we've had in a while. Extremely fit, gets stuck in. Drives forward in possession too. Comparing him to other similar loanees like Pearson and Fox reflects really well on him.

To say that just because someone doesn't make something happen doesn't make them our best player is a bit weird though. Roberts was probably our best player towards the back end of the season and how often did he make something happen?

I wouldn’t say he’s our best player but he does his role very well (breaking up play and giving the ball to more attack minded players)

I think there’s a bit of potential there too.

Debatable but then we've gone that far backwards in 2017 that we no longer have a clear best player. We have plenty who are alright, but nobody to the level of those that were let go yet. Don't think we have to panic about being raided this January.

We don't have any players who make things happen in central midfield so yes, I'd say the one who stops the opposition breaking is the best.

Can I just ask why a player who makes things happen should automatically be a better team player than one who stops the opposition from breaking in your opinion???

Can only think of Lindsay, Williams and Barnes who would have challenged for a place in last seasons pre January side apart from the ones who were here obviously.

That may be true in general, but it's not difficult to see a Danny Drinkwater type situation in regard to Harvey Barnes.

As a stand alone, this is a fair enough opinion. However, coming from the poster who used to slag off Conor Hourihane as being over-rated, poor in open play, and all manner of other curious criticisms, it is rather laughable.

I can't see Leicester selling him, they gave him a 4 year deal in the summer.

Considering we finished the season with Callum Elder at full back, I reckon Jason McCarthy would have walked into our team in January.

Good forward planning. He'll be indispensable for them in the Championship next season

I reckon Jenny McCarthy would've been knocking on the door.
