Am I correct in assuming we got rid of our manager before he'd even been appointed?
That must be a football first if true.

I’m just laughing at the people desperate to get Collins out and then slating the club for doing that.

Don’t get me wrong ideally you have a replacement lined up ready to step in, but if you felt he was the wrong man with no chance of leading to success in the play offs it was right to let him go.

Could be worse. If this was 5 months ago we’d have appointed him, had him take charge of the playoff games, won the playoffs then been disqualified because he had no work permit.

    Bright sides.

Tbh, Collins got us into the playoffs because the results on Saturday meant we could have lost and still got in. So thanks to Neill for securing them!

It is possible that the club were aware that he did not automatically qualify for a GBE / Visa but would more than likely get one on appeal. So is it the GBE he failed or a Visa requirement.

Didn't realise the Tory party had sorted immigration to the point where it runs like a plasma hyper-drive. They need a word with their publicity department because the message simply isn't getting across.

Everyone thinks, post Brexit, that immigration/emigration it's in a right state, applications taking months at best and years at worst, but we've got solid proof here of a guy who applied for a job in this country just before the weekend, was turned down, appealed, had his appeal heard, all within about 72 hours. Over a weekend! It's almost as if none of this is real. Particularly when you factor in that he meets the criteria for a work permit 100%

Rangnick had to wait months to get a work permit to manage Man utd. With far better criteria than this Dominic guy.

But find this a little confusing.

Rangnick quickly emerged as the outstanding candidate during interviews, and was appointed as interim manager until the end of the season on 29 November 2021.[92][93] Following this period, it was stated he would continue in a consultancy role for a further two years.[94] He officially took charge a few days later on 2 December, following the approval of his work permit.[95][96] His first match saw the club victorious.
