It’s common knowledge that we’re skint so if you wanted Collins out you can’t complain at a cheap replacement. He has to be paid off too & in all likelihood at least one of his staff in Stead will have to be paid off too.

I'd rather we kept Collins rather than go down this route if it's true. At least he has experience in the English game. Yes the football hasn't been great, but it's hardly been a disastrous season, just an extremely bad run recently. And he's a young coach, could have learned a lot from this season and been better next, who knows.

But the thing is, the muppets who have screamed verbal abuse at Collins for weeks, sang all those songs at Blackpool will moan if it's a cheap replacement. If you read the replies to the club across various social media platforms, then it gives a good indicator of how thick some of our fans really are. We're skint and people either don't want to acknowledge that or really are stupid when they assume we have all the money from last summer's sales to spend!

Good one :D. He might be the new Serena Wingman. That'll be the boards thinking. Why do we keep trying to re-invent the wheel with left field appointments? They say it's data driven but Thalhammer stats are a bag of w an k. I reckon they love pi saying off the fans.

Saturday was always going to get toxic if things went badly. Last away game of the season in Blackpool lots of tickets available, most of the fans on the piss even the more sensible ones change when they have had too many.

If there's a Post of the Year Award in December, then I vote this.

Maybe we should have phoned the St Mirren social club for their advice before acting..
And whoever we try for next will know that they weren't first choice.. always good for a new coaches ego that..

Oh and f'erk me... Please please please don't go back down this cul de sac again

The problem is, a lot of the people who wanted Collins out thought we'd be getting Warnock in.

The strongest argument against a fan-based ownership model - listening to most fans' views on how their club should be run.

10th Head Coach in 6 years sums up our issues for me. There's no continuity and the financial well seems pretty arid at the moment. I'll credit the owners for the way they've split the CEO and DoF roles and it might have paid off had the remit in the close season been to solely rebuild the squad. Funds for this are now going to have to be diverted in to ensuring we have the right person for the Head Coach job. Maybe Disco and/or Nicky Eaden are the right people for the job, they've roots in the community and don't appear to have aspirations to move away from the area, although as Hecky proved, it wouldn't prevent them heading elsewhere within commuting distance of Barnsley.

Right back to Nixon.. not defending him, don't give two shiny 5hites.. but.
He reports on what he knows and what he hears through his contacts. The information will be real he gets, so if he thinks that it's news worthy he will put it in print.. . The deal may or may not ever come to fruition.. for any number of reasons. But what he reports on will be true.. or he wouldn't go to print.. Because as soon as its written down it comes under the libel laws..
If he got things as wrong as some of you think then we'd have to live in a cave.. he would have been sued for ever last penny years ago..
And those who say if it's not Doug or Giddings there's nothing in it... our own local media only bark when thrown a biscuit remember..
