Post Val we rushed and got Schopp. Post Poya we took our time and got Duff. We don't have as much time as we did when we appointed Duff but I'd rather appoint the right person rather than rush an appointment to appease some of the fanbase. We've got a good coaching setup to start preseason and if we can select a good head coach that meets most of our requirements then there's still hope for a successful season.
I think it will be a quick turnaround. Hopefully the right appointment. I don't get the being called Fannies bit or accusations of over-reacting. Supporting a team is all about passion. It's a passionate pastime and when you lose that passion, it's nothing. To lose somebody we had faith in was gutting ....... but it's the modern way. Maybe the club could have done more? We'll never know so I am cutting them some slack on this one. There was a mega rebuilding job to do after Conway. They'll continue to get some things wrong, but I believe they are working to get lots of things right too. Starting with the next appointment.
It needs to be a quick turnaround or we’ll be playing catch up yet again and it will cost us if we’re serious at having another tilt at promotion.
Last time the board took their time and got it spot on, that was the first appointment of the new board, however last time they seemed to want to learn from mistakes talking to every Tom Dick and Harry asking for advice. This time around I suspect they’ll move faster having already learned lessons from the last process. I imagine a shortlist has already been drawn up and as soon as Duff officially went the phone calls started, the Yorkshire Post are already saying we’ve got interviews arranged, but even then it’s going to take time to interview everyone, new people will start applying for the job not on our radar as well which might mean more interviews and once we narrow it down the top contenders will be interviewed further (Duff said he had 6 interviews including with fitness staff), I reckon the fastest they could do it is a week, maybe 10 days. If the number one target turns us down it then takes a bit longer.
Either way we'll always be a laughing stock. Not a single derby game to look forward to, as all the other Yorkshire teams are better than us.
Aren't your signs the wrong way round. Shouldn't they be greater than I.e. >. <8 weeks covers all the other choices.
How long have Doncaster been better than us? Or Bradford? Or Harrogate? All 3 are in League 2 next season. Which is like, below us.
I think another 2 to 3 weeks wouldn't do too much harm not in until next week and first couple of weeks will be fitness work if it goes on much longer it would be a concern.
I'm just pissed off. Like watching that header go in. That was heartbreaking enough. But it's just the beginning as you spend the summer watching something you believe unravel itself. Again.
