They'll do their usual trick of beating a world top 10 team and drawing with another in friendlies to raise everyones hopes and get them banging on about how we could actually do well in the world cup, only for them to get to the tournament and perform horrifically. Nailed on.

I’d be impressed even if they lost by the odd goal.

Brazil are a good side and full strength, England aren’t anywhere near as good when at full strength, never mind when we’re missing as many as we are

I think we have more chance of doing well missing all the regulars, at least the youngsters will play as a team and try hard

Don’t disagree with that in terms of heart and effort scuba but it’s harsh on Kane, Alli etc to suggest they don’t try, their records are ok.

As for playing as a team, I’d look at the manager for responsibility for that. Finally plays a back three with wingbacks like has been mooted by pretty much everyone for two years or more, finally we get a cohesive performance - even when missing most/all of the first choice midfield and forward line

England's first and third ever goals against Brazil were scored by Tommy Taylor.
