Like most have said - the meeting was a great gesture from the club. I only wish I could have been there - they need to start inviting me. I qualify - I haven't renewed my ST for this season and the last - but its not because I have lost interest or that I don't like the style of football. I attended some of the Don Rowing meetings and they were interesting.
U 'Great gesture by the club' .......isn't it in the owners and CEO's interest to know why season tickets haven't been renewed and persuade fans to change their minds, the great gesture is from the fans who turned up and particularly from Woodbine who changed his mind and renewed.
I agree. I for one am excited for the future. It may not happen in the short-term, but I like what Patrick, Ben and Lee are trying to do. No one is above criticism, but a lot is more malicious than constructive.
What a brilliant post; and I agree with you re the time they've taken to get to know how they can improve things. If posts like yours don't start to change the negative mindset of the people on here who do nothing but criticise the club then it really is a very sad state of affairs. They might be the minority but they need to undertake some serious self examination as to why they still insist on the cynical offensive and negative rants. You had better be careful because at some stage you will be hung drawn and quartered for being a happy clapper. In fact, I would hazard a guess that the club have probably paid you to implement a propaganda programme on their behalf.
And therein lies the problem woodbine. From something which was heartfelt and positive and intended to change and improve things we get sniping and sneering. The expected response to that will be "I'm only effin joking" and "sense of humour by pass" However in reality we have a bunch of cynical negative moaning fewkers who will never ever see the positive in owt. If we signed messi tmrw they'd be asking why we didn't sign Ronaldo also. I've heard the same gripe so many times......the club don't wanna listen to the fans. And when they do, still the complaints come through. It beggars belief. So it does so it does.
Fantastic post. Glad to see the extent of the efforts we are making. After the sacking of yet another last season I was pretty determined just to pay on the door this years I felt sick of it and didn't need to save the money. I was contacted earlier in the summer by someone from the club and persuaded to change to my mind. I have to say though if we don't give LJ the time and support to make us successful then no amount of smoozing will get me to buy another one. We have a young ambitious manager we need to give him 100 percent support and not **** ourselves when we hit the first bad patch.
Well said. Went to the shop today and renewed, East Stand Lower tier. Got a seat near the back to try to get some cover, cos I'm a fair weather fan me like, don't like the rain...
If I remember correctly I recall nudge being there and LJ would probably reach up to his knee... That about right?
