The referendum should have been 11 years ago prior to the signing of the Lisbon treaty.

Yet to see any examples of why staying in the federal state of EU is good.
    Only why leaving is bad.

I just don't think there has been anything ultimately which warrants re-running the referendum. Hate to keep repeating it but it is just a case of people interpreting things differently. Were there any blatant lies during the campaign to sway the vote? Probably not on either side, although George Osbournes threatened budget cuts came close to the wire, but people knew he was spinning a line on that one. Had there been blatant lies from either side, I wouldn't oppose another referendum but It cost approx £140 million to run the last one, money that should be going into the public purse. But on the basis that the best reason people wanting a re-run seem to come up with is because of how they interpreted something written on the side of a bus, I don't think it stacks up.

My original post was that he said “I will deal with it”

The media ran with the headlines he was going to write them off. Which conveniently, wasn’t clarified until after the election.

It was implied, some people took this is fact, just as some people thought £350m a week was going to the NHS if we left the EU.

In response to me saying that he never said he would write off historic student debt.

The media misrepresenting what Jeremy Corbyn said? Get away...

I think Jimmy could be right...I don't know any leavers who have changed their mind
( despite what certain opinion polls suggest), I do though know a couple of Remainers who accept it as a final result, and I'm not sure the young could be counted on to sway it to the degree that has been suggested...my son was in a tiny minority of staff at his college to vote leave and was treated like a pariah by several members of staff...he told me the students were far less judgmental or abrasive ....or actually interested in many cases.

He's a politician therefore the word 'honest' is a contradiction of terms . They'll literally say owt for extra votes . He's a brilliant orator but that doesn't mean he's going to be a good leader , and after all he still lost to a PM who has as much leadership qualities and personality as a potato.

No there’s no way the picture below would be interpreted as we will spend another £350million on the nhs...

None of the voting public would think that... come on that is more than a little misleading, it’s a downright lie. And it wasn’t just the bus, Farage, Johnson and co also readily discussed it in the lead up campaign.

Besides, are you ignoring the fact that we ‘remoaners’ (even though I’ve said I don’t think we should have another vote on it) have acknowledged the major factor on the leave vote in this region and others was immigration, not finance, and that we have said their vote was clearly misguided as there is no suggestion whatsoever that less foreign nationals will enter the U.K. as a result of leaving the eu? Maybe less Eastern Europeans but more African and Indian Subcontinent nationals.

Apparently our only argument is the bus? Well to be fair the pictures say a lot but let’s not pretend that we don’t know that a huge proportion of Brexit supporters in our region voted so due to immigration in the false belief that it would mean ‘sending them home’.

The lack of education and even common sense in some of the voting (on the remain side too - wasn’t there a video saying a woman had voted remain so she could still go to Eurodisney and Ibiza on holiday?) was truly worrying and a sad indictment of our society generally. The vote however it had gone would have been won on false information and in some cases inexcusable ignorance.

There’s a difference between the right wing press making up a smear after the event that quite literally no one believed and the promise on the bus and on posters that clearly deceived people. My mum and dad for example voted in the end on the promise of more money for the NHS.

Dont kid yourself , they're all slightly dodgy. You can pin your hopes on Jezza but like many before him he'll be an honourable loser that goes on to fill his boots with cash . He'll not call it capitalism tho.
