Was in some paper at the end of last season. Showing top and bottom earners at each club. £1500 was what they said he was on.

Ha....so this £1200 is based on Football Manager 2017. He started 2017 at Barnsley so i reckon thats his Barnsley wage at the beginning of the season if its at all accurate, which i cant see it being!

If he is on £1500 a week at villa under the most "throw money at whatever" owner and manager in the league he has the worst agent in the football league. If you are saying you think he moved for footballing reasons thats even more laughable.

The rumours he's on a lot more than mentioned. The figures are clearly quite high for a player of his demand last winter.

I think like when Jack Butland joined Stoke it was very much to play and that's the type of player I hope James Bree looks at. He will clearly be unhappy with whats happened because he had much bigger options whilst at Oakwell and again like Butland moved to the Midlands to play first-team football.

Like always some of the things posters say astonishes. This time it's people questioning the pace of Bree. The guys Rapid with and without the football. If you watched him a lot it was evident to all. Him and Marley watkins could run 30/40 yards with a player close on the wing and never look like losing the ball. This might have come through a strong rugby playing youth.

Was told Bree is on more than ten times what he was at Barnsley.

I doubt he’s panicking too much, it’s still early days in a long term deal. Worst case scenario is he gets loaned out & still earns a great wage.

On the plus side he’s absolutely minted, has a girlfriend that looks like a model & has just whisked her off to Paris during the international break. It’s a hard life.

Not going to knock the lad. He turned down the choice to join Man Utd’s academy to stick with us and earned his move to Villa.

He's 19 years old. He's handsome. He's a professional footballer. He's on the books at Aston Villa. Even if we take the lowest quoted wage in this thread of £1,200 a week (which we all doubt) then that's 62 grand a year. At 19!

So he's young, good looking, rich and in a career where you go into work a couple of hours a day at the most and have young women throw themselves at you. Aye, my heart bleeds for the poor little lamb.

Yeah deffo McCarthy, he's ours, he will develop much more with game time rather than playing second fiddle to Bree.

Bree is/was better than Yiadom and McCarthy. Wouldn't have him back on loan though, stick to improving your own assets instead of helping others.

He wouldn't want sympathy, and nor should he get any. Playing or not he's in a profession that gives him many privileges, and that I'm sure he loves.

And at the end of the day, if he's not playing another championship club(or top end League One) will no doubt take a punt on him for a solid wage packet and he will get all the money Villa owe him on his contract too.

He’s in a great position, earning a fortune on a long term deal & if he doesn’t feature in Bruce’s plans he just gets loaned out

If this is not ironic, I'll just point out that Paulo Maldini made on average 1.5 tackles every 2 games.
