Driving to work this morning a cat ran out into the road straight in front of me. Unfortunately I had no time to stop and it didn't survive the impact. Awful watching the poor thing pass away as me and a kind woman who stopped tried to look after it. Not much I could have done but still feel bad about it poor thing.

    Terrible start to the day.

I'd be more worried about damage to my car than some poxy cat.

Whether you like cats or not my thoughts would probably have gone to the family who have lost their pet.

People like cats. People like dogs. People don't like anyone. I get that. But when you kill something that means something to someone else, and you still don't give a **** that's when I think there is a problem with you.

Nothing wrong with me thanks. In my time on the road I've had a dog, a rabbit and a bloody deer run out in front of me, all of which caused damage to my car.

Fair do's. You stand by not giving a **** if you killed something that means something to someone else.

Whether you think there's anything wrong with you or not is irrelevant really.

If I hit a person, I'd give a ****. An animal? Nope. Sorry.

Like you said not much you could have done so try not to be hard on yourself. Hopefully didn't suffer too much.
I'm not a cat person myself but as others have said thoughts go out to the family

No bother mate. That's how your conscience works. Can't say that's right or wrong.

Personally if I killed a cat or a dog that meant something to someone, who to that person was a part of their family, then I would feel a bit **** to say the least. Sometimes it isn't the action that causes sadness but the effect of the action.

Each to their own. I would rather live my life and know my actions, whether deliberate or otherwise, do have consequences. Often unintended. But if those actions cause upset and distress then yes, my moral compass would probably point me in the direction of compassion not crassness.

I'm not an animal person, I don't do pets, I don't do animals. Each to their own.

Luckily it passed away very quickly so it didn't suffer.

But you can show some understanding that other people do and what they mean? Or do you not understand that either?

I can see why people get attached to something if it hangs around long enough, just like having a Mrs :D

I have friends who own cats and they never see the fecking things, unless it wants fed.
