So very sorry to hear your news SR. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. I share your grief , as over the past few days our family have been absolutely rocked with the death of three of our male relatives over in Doncaster. An uncle passed away as a result of a heart attack, then the husband of my wife's niece has died just a short two weeks after a scan revealed he had a very aggressive form of cancer. Our sister in law then got in touch on Monday to inform that her Dad had been admitted to hospital with Covid and was immediately put in an induced coma. Unfortunately we received a text on Tuesday evening to inform that he had sadly not made it. As a mark of respect , I am not going to post on the board until the three funerals take place. Rest in peace Uncle Bill, my good mate Bobby and Diane's Dad John.
That must have been a huge shock to you and your family. Thoughts are with you all at this terrible time.
Sincere heartfelt condolences to all who have lost loved ones . I currently still have to go to work in Paddington but my boss has now agreed I can leave earlier to avoid the 17.02 from Paddington where at least 4 or 5 people , usually construction workers, get on the train unmasked. No point confronting them as you get a gobful of abuse and station staff just shrug. Not seen any BTP on the station for at least a week though there'll be a couple there today as it's Friday and they always patrol Fridays
Its definitely here, how they report the deaths and the amount of deaths they put down to covid is shocking, for example my neighbours brother in law was suffering from mental health ( been having issues for years) he took is own life 2 weeks ago by stepping in front of a train, because he had covid within 28 days of is suicide they put that down on is death certificate, not the fact that a 300 ton train hit him at 80 mph, I think ( imo) many people are questioning it because of things like this .
Did you see the desth certificate or is that an anecdote? Seems strange they would covid test a corpse?
Did I see the deaths certificate? Not being pedantic RH, but I ain't the kind of bloke to ask my neighbour to show me the death certificate as proof, he may well be lieing out of his teeth, I don't know, all I know is that within 28 days prior to his death he had tested positive
To be fair he didn't say they did a covid test on a dead man, he said he had tested positive within 28 days which I thought we had all understood to be the policy now as it's been so for many months
It just seems a bit old wives tales thats all, didn't mean it to come across like that. Poor soul will have been dead at the scene and I know for a fact that suicides are being reported as such. There just seems to be a general thing going round that if you have covid that's all that is being put down, when plainly that isn't the case
I suspect there's a bit of confusion from someone who's grieving. Covid won't be on the death certificate as the cause of death but his death will be included by the government as a 'died with covid' death for the daily figures. So maybe not actually on the death certificate but it's certainly attributed to covid in publications, statements and the media.
Agree, condolences to anyone who as lost friends and family to this vile disease, just a question and I really don't know the answer, if someone died of cancer/ suicide etc prior to covid and they had say influenza would this have been down on the death certificate as " died with " BTW I ain't comparing the two as the same in severity but am comparing the two as a virus/ disease which can take life, if so i will wind my neck in, if not then that could be a reason why many ( not myself) are on social media platforms questioning the true amount of deaths.
If the acute illness (flu) was a contributing factor when someone who had a chronic condition (cancer) dies then both are listed. The acute illness might (or might not) have killed them without the chronic condition, but the chronic condition wouldn't have killed them *then* without the acute illness. In most cases, if they didn't get the acute illness they wouldn't have died *then*. Same with Covid - if they didn't catch Covid they would probably not have died *then* and might have lived for many months or years.
pneumonia is traditionally the biggest killer in the U.K. as is listed as a cause of death on many Certs
