I keep forgetting that we've made all our mistakes.

Re: Have they moved onto his other leg yet ?

What happens if, after the transfer window closes at the end of August, we pick up a few injuries? In the past, we've brought loan players in. But this season we've got rid of our squad and replaced three of them with loan players, so we can't. Has anyone at the club thought of that? The reason the vast majority of clubs don't get any loan players in until after the transfer window shuts (or just one season long loan) is that they then have the potential to bring in 5 more players between September and December. We can only bring in 2, unless we sign more loan players before then. Maybe Barry hasn't made that mistake before because we've never been stupid enough to bring in 3 loan players in July before.

Fair point. I'm sure there are new undiscovered mistakes that we can make.

Whilst I don't buy into the specific point that Johnson will walk, I think the changes to the squad (other than Mawson) are questionable at least.

    Youth loans don't count.

I wouldn't have thought Johnson would walk either. Can't imagine him making such threats. But if I were him, I'd be worried about the strength of my squad, which wouldn't make me particularly happy. Not that I'd say anything different to the press than he has done. You don't let your opposition know that you're weak.

Mawson looks a good signing. The rest, well, I dunno, we'll have to wait and see. But I think we've done a lot of unneccesary in and outs rather than concentrate on the positions that clearly needed filling, and still do.

So we could field a team of 11 youth loans?

    Seems they do

52.2.1 A maximum of 5 loan Players (Standard, International, Emergency or Youth) can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This figure shall include any additional loan of a goalkeeper approved by the Executive under the provisions of Regulation 54.

I don't think we could tbh. The rules read to me that you can register as many as you want but can only play 2 youth loans, and 5 of any loan in total.

Ahhhh, sorry. I assumed you'd meant we could only sign 5 loanees, I'm sure there's some kind of discrepancy with youth loans. But you're right that we can only use 5 of any kind in a matchday 18.

Although if some are injured, we won't need to play more than 5 anyway.
