I think Woodrow should have come off rather than Victor last night. It seemed silly to keep him on for the full ninety. And, for me, we're wasting the strikers' energy if they're constantly racing around to stop the opposition centrebacks from moving the ball, only to discover that there are some easy outlets out wide because our midfield and wing backs haven't pushed up and picked up their men. Wish I had a fiver for every time I head Val shout "Higher!" yesterday.

Another agile quick trick forward and front 3 will be ok.
I like woodrow and like the look of Morris.

Chaplin, schmidt and Miller are done for me.

morris, woodrow, vic (only off bench) Freiser and one more.

I think in hindsight that Woodrow was more effective playing at the tip of the diamond under struber, atm we have a bank of 4 in midfield and a bank of 3 up front but they,re very flat with no link up man, so the only real option is the ball over the top and if we,re playing teams like Watford with big no nonsense defenders , its meat and drink and they just mop everything up,, Vi has got the points on the board which is great, but he needs to work on different formations giving us the option to change tact mid game..i,d be thinking seriously about playing odour at wing back and freeing styles up to do what he does best...

Think that’s the problem with looking retrospectively, it can have a tinge of rose tinted glasses.
John wasn’t a big punt, he came for next to nothing and was a no brainier to sign him, he said himself he came just because he wanted to play and was in commutable distance. As others have said now a days we wouldn’t get near someone of that quality due to wages gone silly.
Same with Adam, there was a reason why no other club wanted him at the time which is well documented and whilst PC may have been instrumental in signing him, I doubt he was so tactically blessed he knew he would be the catalyst. More likely he saw a player who was cheap and decided he was worth a punt.
No different to what our current owners have done with many players they signed.

Trouble is, we had Woodrow playing in a 10 role at the start of the season, and we couldn't score a goal then either.

I think he was more effective their personally, Morris and Chaplin/vic up front and styles with mowatt in midfield...Or Cauley and Morris up top with Styles creating in behind, we dffo need a plan b to call on...

I like the idea of Styles playing behind Woodrow and Morris. Can't see Ismael changing the formation though
