If the stories about his behavior at the old Golf House during his time here are true it is unlikely that he would be welcome back and I for one would,nt want him.

It is alledged that he ran up an enormous bar bill which he tried to sign over to the club and that he also commited a sexual indescretion with a female receptionist who was subsequently disiplined by Corus after a letter of complaint came from the club.

They also seem to think they'll be signing Nards and

    Devaney.

    Doubt it!

Well both are out of Contract

Andy knows exactly what sort of deal they are on here and from what he said about the wage-structure at Huddersfield he may be able to offer them more than we can.

Hopefully we'll still be in the Championship and that alone should hold some sway with (a) our out of contract mob and (b) any future signings.

I wouldn't be quite so dismissive of the Huddersfield links though.

    Test of Shepherd this summer.

Howard, Devaney, Hassell, Nardy etc. all out of contract, assuming the manager wants them to stay will he be backed by Shepherd and the board ?

Then there's the question of new signings. Wonder if supporters expectations will be managed better than they were last summer ? Plus if we get relegated all this is made more difficult.

    Massive ...

Should we stay up I'd say that this close season will determine where we are for the next five years.

If we can build and improve we ought to be able to get that foothold in the division and allow us to build season on season. If we get it wrong then another few years in the wilderness beckons.

I have no faith whatsoever in The Board.

Luck rather than design should we stop up.

Think Davey has his work cut out this summer.

Have we any box office lined up?

Or are we looking at the bottom end of Leagues 1 and 2 again?

    God knows.

But, I've said this for years now, we have to stop chopping and changing the manager every 2 minutes. I have major issues with BFC and how it treated Ritchie, but that aside, our record these past few years is shameful. Shepherd on Radio Sheff said " Andy's the man" when asked by the presenter, a couple of weeks before he was sacked.I hope that if Davey is now "the man" that he is allowed to manage and is given backing. I'm still not convinced by Davey, his tactics, team selection and from what I'm told how he talks to players, especially the younger ones are all questionable in my view. However, if he keeps us up he deserves to have a fair crack at it next season, backed by The Board and all fans. He's had to put up with the pro-Ritchie chants in games which, whatever you may think is pitiful when the team are battling to stay in this league. So let's hope that we're a Championship side next year with him in charge with players HE wants, and lets see where that takes us.

    IF we stay up...

Massive test for board and manager. Keep the good players that are out of contract. This will test our pay structure. Not make the mistakes of this season and do some serious strengthening before August.
Will a stringent budget and an 'unknown' manager be able to realise this? Or would we be in another relegation fight from game one, talking fourth form bottom will do?
It'd be a massive test if we went down too, more so - obscurity beckons.

I should imagine it will depend

on what league we are in. all focus should be on staying up, and if/when that happens, we'll be a in better position to assess what we need for next season having had a season in the Championship. Im sure neither the Chairman nor the manager fancy another season long relegation fight, and they'll be doing their upmost to ensure we bring quality additions in to build on what we've already got.

me neither. if we stay up, and still a big if, surely huge amount of credit goes to the Board - gamble on 2 Hungarians and an unproven manager, not many Chairmen so bold.......witsafarishirtart.

I think we will stay up now ,

for me we have essentially the same team that got promoted , whilst we have a bigger squad I dont think its improved that much.

I thought that the players would have been able to make the step up but it turned out not to be the case.

We need at least 1 player for every positon with the exception of left back where we need at least 2.

    No better than last season

Nytanga? Stan? Togwell? I think we need 5 or 6 quality players, but think we can also lose a few that have been found out. Maybe this time a few players will see us as better prospect of staying up.
