There are several quality players currently without clubs. Proven in the Premier League & Championship. Daniel Sturridge good example. Whilst that may be aiming a tad high, there are lots more ....... experience & quality is a must .....NOW. I accept it’s not ‘our model’ but ‘our model’ will get us relegated. We cannot wait until January to sign more kids.....it will be too late by then. I also accept that they will demand high wages... so be it. We CAN afford them and more importantly, we HAVE to pay them if we want to stay up. If any of the younger talent is to thrive, they need to play in a side which has the likes of MOWATT, McGEEHAN, plus some older heads with the leadership & experience. It’s not short term gain, it’s a sustainable plan which we don’t currently have. If you want to develop players, you need a good team already for them to develop in!!
Daniel Sturridge just signed for Trabzonspor and there would have been absolutely no chance we could afford his wages to sit in our physio room. Aren't freebies a bit low class for you rich? Should be asking them to get a billion spent in January on Messi. PS you're posting very regularly, are you sure you've still got a life?
You two so funny..... saw several threads last night where all you seem to do is make pointless immature comments.... funny don’t you think that the common theme running through most of the rubbish posted seems to involve guess who.... you two! Are you both very small in some way, you clearly both feel very inadequate?! Bless
Cant disagree with any if that Rich. This is the mesters league, very unforgiving. If you were an electrician or in any kind of employment, you are normally put alongside a more experienced person to train and "up skill " you. No different here and we have done it in the past, to great effect. Im not saying all change, im saying 2 or 3, that instead of having a sell on value are actually there to improve the young uns.....which would in turn increase their performance levels and their sell on value....if you like. The way we have set up is ridiculous and the real pain is can we wait until january? we may have lost too many points and be adrift.
You deserve any and all immature comments thrown your way after the s**t you were spouting a few week ago.
Very grown up for admitting your immaturity, though your reply doesn’t explain why you behave the same way on EVERY thread you post on. From now on I will not encourage you with replies.
Provide the evidence to back this up. And if you are referring to a discussion I had with @Goldthorpe-Red you will find it was a misunderstanding whereby we both were man enough to admit so rather than fall out.
It’s easy to sign a free transfer on a little bit higher demands. You pay what the transfer fee is into the contract instead.
And what about when the other players see our wage structure being broken for these new signings and start complaining because they are getting paid less? The wage structure is there for a reason we can't just throw it in the bin to get one or two high wage players.
I agree to a point but its clear that we need some experience. If we have to break the wage structure on the right player then we might have to consider it for the longer term good of the club. If any player was to knock on the managers door moaning about wages he should just sit them down in front of a DVD showing the Carlisle, Brum and Luton games then invite them to close the door on their way out. The last paragraph is slightly tongue in cheek of course.
And here we go again, who would we get within our wage structure, who’s out of work, who nobody else wants and will make the difference? This is where we are squad wise, it’s unlikely to change until January. We can therefor whine, bleat, beat each other up and be as negative as **** or collectively as fans, players, coaching staff and board , we can roll our sleeves up and fight and graft to try and make it work. I’m not saying the situations fine as it’s clearly not but as a town we’re historically better than throwing in the towel in adversity. Give the club some backing or don’t but the excessive negativity is going to work against the club.
The values of these players will grow better after a successful League One season and for that reason signing some experience isn't going to happen.
The level of immaturity and in-fighting on this board is a joke. As one of many oversees fans i rely on it to keep up with news and opinions of people who go. But we also reply on insightful and thoughtful posters who relay decent information. Not children who after beating Fulham thought we'd push for playoffs or after Carlisle said none should play again for the club. It's just like twitter. Morons hiding behind a keyboard under a fake name. regarding the Free Transfer topic. All free agents are flawed. To old, too injury prone, too expensive, poor attitudes. That's why they are available. While they may add some experience. I don't see them helping much. The owners won't see them as salable assets so why pay for their wages with no return. That's business. And I think they're rather get relegated for it too.
