Fundraising for Bobby Hassell's soccer school/Oakwell print....

Some of you will have seen the print of the Old Oakwell painting I made a while back. I've got quite a lot of unsold copies and I had the idea of using them to help raise funds for Bobby's local community football projects, details below. As we all know, he does fantastic work with local kids and it is the kind of thing I was looking to get involved with using my modest skills, so is great for me too. This has Bobby's full support and he will be publicising the offer via his Facebook page over the next few days. The print has been cut to £20, so apologies to those who paid full price but we think it will raise more cash at this price. Order now for Father's Day. I've also worked out a framing deal with Alan in Barnsley Market, who will mount and frame them for £20. He's just inside the door from Cheapside.

This is Barnsley fan Paul Caton's beautiful watercolour painting of old Oakwell, featuring the old Ponty stand before it was rebuilt in the 1990s. I am sure many of you will have great memories of standing on those terraces!

A limited edition, high quality collectors print of the painting is available for sale. Each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist and measures 42 x 30 cm (A3). Suitable for framing and a perfect Father's Day gift!

Paul studied for his Fine Art degree at Chelsea School of Art and later for a Masters Degree at Saint Martins, London. His work has been exhibited extensively, including the Royal Academy of Art in London.

Having bought 2 prints, I can vouch for them as being really excellent, and very evocative of Oakwell in the mid 1960's when I first started watching the Reds.

Admit it Kev, I'm the only artist you know!!

I knew I should have put some sinister kids climbing the floodlights, then my regular clientele would have bought it!!

I'm raffling an original drawing too for the fund, in my pub down here. Some of the regulars have grumbled that it's not a local charity/cause, we live in Highgate for Bob's sake!! It's hardly Kendray!! You won't see them get off their fat arses to help anyone, so not bothered. I think this will become one of my long termers, for as long as Bobby keeps it going at least.

I'm hoping to raise a few quid for the soccer school. I'm not asking for donations, it's a product for sale from which profits will be donated. It raised a easy £100 for LDRed's hospice fundraiser, so he'd better blumming buy one! When it hits Bobby's FB page I'm hoping it will pick up.
