Georgia is a decent size, but a fall in cases is a fall in cases.

Whilst it's true that people in the south tend to be republican, it's a bit of a myth that Republicans are all southern rednecks. Not the case at all.

I've fell into the trap of watching the news about three weeks back and seeing all them rednecks protesting in the streets.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...furloughed-workers-DONT-want-return-work.html

If companies want the person back, the person shouldn't have a choice or if they do have a choice the company should have the choice to take them off furlough to let them go and then find someone new.

As for Sunak again he shows he's a PM in waiting. He's helped many millions today especially those in hospitality. Far better over here than in America with Trump acting like a child with the American born Chinese lady reporter and still not wearing a mask to lead by example or social distancing (same with Pence).

I think most people will be quite ready to go to work again . I know the right wing tabloids make out that we'd all like to sit on our arses all day if we had the choice, but most people have a sense of purpose.

None of our politicians are wearing masks in Westminster now? Sunak wasn't wearing a mask earlier?

You can't compare countries helping their population and throw in an example of something that doesn't effect what you're talking about.

Trump has never socially distanced that I've seen which I think is the point that's being made. And I have never seen a pm or President of the united states behave in quite such a childish, petulant manner as Trump does.

The point was definitely about wearing a mask ......... but agree on your separate point too.

Trump should have to wear a Dick Turpin mask, along with Johnson, Rees Mogg et al.

Itll depend on the wording and how it works come the end of May.

I suspect however there will be a lot of companies weighing up whats cheaper.

The contributions the government require or redundancy payments.

Business as usual until the end of July though. No change.

So today is a very positive announcement of an additional four weeks of furlough. Let's hope the positivity continues when we find out what happens from August through to October.

I'll reserve judgment until I see how he pays for this in the years afterwards

(spoiler - it'll be by cutting benefits, NHS spending and generally loving ordinary folk rather than taxing the rich)

And if you've worked there less than 2 years you're screwed redundancy wise

What she fails to mention however, is that around £110bn of that £137bn has been paid back.

To be paid for by privatising the NHS.
