This doesn't surprise me at all. I work out of the North East a fair bit and some Middlesbrough supporting clients are less than complementary about his time in charge there. In addition they did seem to spend an absolute fortune on players, just seen they bought Ashley Fletcher around that time for £6.5m.
Cheers for that ChefTyke. Sickens me to the core that we continue to watch our heroes, managers and players alike, with child-like innocence and excitement week-in, week out when all the time the game is festering like this behind closed doors. Agents really are the scum of the earth. Whenever there is money to be made in any arena - business, entertainment, sport ....... I can't blame forward-thinking folk for thinking "I'll have a piece of that" but when desire turns to greed and corruption it really does turn into a sad state of affairs. That article really does remind me of the TV Soap Dallas in the early 80's. Monk and his agent playing JR and Cliff Barnes!
George Graham copped for it in the nineties Brian Clough would have copped for it in the noughties but for illness, then big Sam copped for it whilst in charge of the national team. They're all at it. Wherever, you have large amounts of money people get greedy and that breeds corruption.
Gibson comes across as a good owner/guy and not sort of guy to take liberties with. If he thinks Monk has been naughty he won’t let it get swept away
I was very surprised that Monk was sacked and thought Birmingham city had lost the plot. However, it would seem clubs are sharing intelligence and they have been found out.I didn't realise he had spent £50 million pounds though. As the Agent says, they haven't broken any football rules, which makes you think that we ought to.
