    Clubs saw what we were getting in and fleeced us, with PC also spending some of the incoming to show the fans it weren`t all going back to him.

    I'm not sure Lindsay isn't perfect but looks decent for 350k same with pinnock for 500k. Buying a player in Mcgheen returning from a broken leg is always a gamble hopefully with a pre season he can shine next season. Keiffer moore will be a handful next season and I think 650k is a good deal. The problem we had is expecting so many young players jump up 2 divisions with no middle ground it was either sink or swim. And of course we had two goalkeepers who didn't make saves. But imo we didn't pay too much over the odds if at all, the markets inflated Leeds paid 3million for roofe peterbourgh wanted 10million for Marriott and maddison who have never kicked a ball above league one.

    I know he's out of contract.. and so are 10 players, so Brad Potts may have a few of his old buddies for company next season..

    Thiam nuff said, and even some of those bargain basement signings would have been cheaper IMO before we gained a bit of wealth.

    We have but we’ve had a lot more incoming.

    In terms of net spend, by my reckoning Davey had more than any other Barnsley manager this century

    How do you make that out ? apparently in the last 12 months we have spent approx £ 6 million , I believe the alleged fee we paid for Hume was in the region of £1 million , big difference

    it was dire to watch though - I never wanted him and kept hoping we would get shut - even though I was not one that continually campaigned for his removal - I havent even done that with Morais mind

    The top part of the Ponty (closest to the West Stand) was very lively against Bristol City, Arbourthorne, and Brentford.

    Considering the horrors we've been served-up at home, I can only agree with you that the fans backed 'em.

    Pat Howard was one of the best center half's Barnsley has ever produced .
    By the way Pat and his sister June are related to me through there mother, Ant Susie so i'm not biased :)

    He kept us up three times and his budget was no higher than anyone else's. That's why he was fetching in so many foreign players at that time.
