It was just figures quoted at the time by journos ect most transfers are undisclosed like bree and Conor were undisclosed at the time but roumor doing the rounds was 3million each.
I’m talking about net spend. What goes out is irrelevant if there’s a lot more coming in. To pay out £1.2m for Hume back then when the TV money was less & we weren’t selling many players was huge. Davey was backed more in the sense that the owner was pumping his own money in to support Davey’s transfer dealings where as we’ve been self sufficient for the last few years.
We could hold regular meetings! I think I can lay my hands on a job lot of bath chairs and tartan blankets.
I’m not sure he’d have ever been a player worth £1.2m but I remember he was coming into form just before the Morgan incident, such a shame
Oh, no argument he was a decent player but at maybe two thirds the price we paid. Oh well, unfortunately we'll never know for sure.
I always suspected that much of it was the financial premium from reaching the cup semifinal that was burning a hole in Davey’s back pocket
Yeah i thought he was a decent player for us, a goal against derby at home stands out from memory. I think matty fryatt would have been the better signing from Leicester at the time.
£3million each ? No chance , Conor had six months left on his contract so I’d be amazed if we got more than a million tbh . Bree is a little harder to value and tbh I never thought he was much good so whatever we got was good money .
