Didn't David moyes say something similar about John stones and pat came out and said he was talking ****. I'd take what managers say about fees with a pinch of salt tbh
Understand , but to make comparisons with Hume & todays dealings are impossible , as you say , money values , interest rates , income & expenditure are all varied , the only one constant though is that we are a selling club , always have been & always will be
That would mean waiting until after the play off final if they go up he’s not going to want to come to another league one team.
Thanks, Kev. Obviously the Sharps used to live in Dodworth when I knew them (I still see Gary as I was at secondary school with him) and when Duncan ran his haulage business. I'm a similar age to you so I thought maybe you were at junior school together.
I can remember seeing Duncan Sharp every now and then when I attended the Infant's School near St. John the Baptist church in Dodworth. He always seemed enormous to my young eyes and was impressed when my Dad told me Mr Sharp used to play for Barnsley.
I'm impressed with how many on here are up and getting it going at every home game, and not just having a whinge on the internet.
The atmosphere has been atrocious at Oakwell for some time now but it's like most home teams in the league. I've been to 18 away games this season and we've outsung most.
It's all-seater stadiums, unfortunately - happens everywhere. The fans who sing scattered to all parts of the Ponty and beyond. Difficult to join that group if your numbered seat is miles away. Fair play to that back top corner of TPE for giving it a go. Away from home, it's usually different - no numbered seats so the singers can congregate as they wish. I miss a packed, standing Ponty as much as anyone - the sooner they bring in safe standing, the better.
I'd even be up for having another band to get some atmosphere created summat needs to happen. Whatever happened to Stevie rossiter band
