Crackerz Gary Lineker hounded on Twitter for sharing video of caged Palestinian children #Occupation Former England footballer attacked by former senior Israeli official and Israeli supporters for criticising abuse of human rights Gary Lineker is one of the UK's best paid television presenters (AFP) MEE staff Tuesday 12 December 2017 14:48 UTC Last update: Tuesday 12 December 2017 20:40 UTC Former England footballer Gary Lineker has been hounded by Israel supporters on Twitter after sharing a video of young Palestinian children being held in a small cage by Israeli forces. The video, published by the human rights group B'tselem, shows Israeli soldiers gathering and violently detaining Palestinian youths in Hebron in the illegally occupied West Bank, on 13 October. Lineker, who now presents the BBC's flagship Match of the Day highlights show, shared a tweet containing the video which had originally been posted by Ben White, a pro-Palestinian journalist and activist and occasional Middle East Eye contributor, and added the comment "sickening". ....... http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/g...ng-video-caged-palestinian-children-890938502
When we went swimming with dolphins I was bitterly disappointed to find out that it didn't squeak when you rubbed them. This let down would pale into insignificance if I discovered that mr linekers very peculiar rubber textured looking skin didn't achieve soprano c once vigorously thumbed.
The problem is not so much holding them temporarily in a 'caged area ' pending processing if they have been throwing stones etc. but the fact that in the 1st part of the video there was one child (you can hardly call him a youth') who was clearly distressed and in some pain from his arm which the soldiers seemed to totally uninterested in. Worse still, the only way to break the perpetual cycle of violence is to win the hearts and minds of the young on both sides and this approach would absolutely not. The Israelis are clearly not in the least bit interested in doing so and so the cycle of violence continues. Anyone who speaks out against Israeli foreign policy is accused of being anti-semitic. It seems that no one, particularly the Jewish state of Israel, learned from the Holocaust, and whilst it does not compare to that, the attempted ethnic cleansing by gradually displacing Palestinians in, for example the West bank, has echoes of that. Netanyahu's recent statement about Jerusalem having always been the capital of Israel for 3000 years confused me seeing as I recall the Crusaders being 'removed ' by Saladin and Christians being ransomed or sold into slavery 'liberating' (in the mind of Saladin) Jerusalem from the occupying Christian forces. Prior to that, the Muslims in Jerusalem had been massacre by Christians (Crusaders who occupied Jerusalem for many years. On top of that , my understanding was the State of Israel only came into existence in the 20th century post WW2. Israel is rapidly becoming a rogue state but hold sway in the US and other Western democracies.
This is where he'l probably be accused of been anti semitic then.... Il be suprised if they let a BBC employee have a negative opinion on Israel
Good on Lineker. He is obviously worth a few bob & dare speak up. Israel & the USA are both run by fascist sympathisers / apologists. Time our leader stopped sucking up to them. No chance of that though eh, when many of the Tory sponsors are pro Zionist.
Ahhh the same guy who deleted his FIFA bashing tweets from over the years to take a tidy five figure sum off them to do the World Cup draw.
If you ever met him, which I have, you would realise very quickly that he is a big headed arrargant so and so.
Our Government has been infiltrated by Israeli agents since the 1950s. You would be surprised how many of our MPs enjoy "fact finding" holidays in Israel. The so called Friends of Israel are a very powerful force in Parliament. They seem to forget how many British Soldiers Israeli terrorists murdered.
Dan Jarvis is a member of "Labour friends of israel".. and ex mp of barnsley East was chair of LFI a4 he got some a job running 'uk music plc in London last year
