Be nice fir some employers to think like that as well tbh . Although I’m sure there are some but as is happening now the govts (to my surprise and I’m still waiting for the catch) bid to help has been taken advantage of by some immoral firms . Unions job is to look after its members but I’m sure the moral argument will have been raised and factored in the Unions counsell but it’ll act on whatever it’s majority of members want and rightly so imo .
No they should ALL act in the interests of society as well. Of course they should be looking out for their members interests but they should do so whilst maintaining a conscience.
Looks like a consultation to reduce Premier League players wages by 30% could be on the cards. Also, if it happens a £125 million advance to the EFL and £20 million to the NHS could also hopefully materialise. Interesting as well that Boris had to have a call with all the Council leaders to remind them to hurry up releasing the monies given to them to distribute.
Tbh that sounds as though it’s come from Boris press secretary. I’ll take that with a pinch of salt for now . That’s the news from zBoris by the way not your reporting of it .
Get that and you could be right. What I would add though is Council that covers Nottingham started paying monies into business accounts last week, the Council that cover where I work are quoting next week as earliest to start paying(hearing similar stories around country). The cynic in me (without no proof) says Council are sitting on it for as long as possible.
Ahem!! Town Centre News Access support for your business If you're concerned about the impact of COVID-19 on either your business or your state of employment, we can help. So far, Barnsley Council has paid out over £19 million in grants to over 1762 businesses in Barnsley, ahead of receiving money from Central Government which arrived on Thursday 02 April.
Fair play to the Councils that are acting ahead of the game then, others it would appear to be waiting for the funds. Nothing wrong with that if that’s the case.
Barnsley council have been very speedy. A number of my clients have received their grants already. Meanwhile in Sheffield....
Gary Neville reminds me of Peter Kay. Can imagine him going "garlic bread? Scholeseh garlic bread? It's future."
I’m not suggesting he’s ‘more generous’, merely explaining that he’s doing his bit and that Ignoring that and slating him is disingenuous at best. I’m currently still at the ‘finding out what more I could be doing’ stage, what are you doing to help?
Nothing financially because I'm not in a position to help financially . I have become an NHS volunteer though to help my local community . I'm happy to give up my labour ...
Good work You should be promoting the benefits from the rooftops. I’m still working long hrs in a critical role but looking to do a bit more if I can.
