I could understand how showing a degree of remorse would be admirable at a parole hearing, but admitting guilt immediately after being found guilty shouldn't affect any sentencing in my opinion. It would be disingenuous at best.
He'll never see gen pop. Even if he's in protected custody he'd not last a week. He'll be in isolation for his entire time. Not sure if that will affect the likely sentence or not.
PR or not the shooting of the girl attempting to murder someone is the most justified use of force you'll see. She was literally attempting to stab someone when she was shot. It shouldn't even be spoke about in the same discussion as the Derek chauvin murder verdict as that was the correct decision and he needs to rot in hell
How many shots do you think is preferred? One? That most likely wouldn't have stopped her from stabbing her victim? Haven't you ever seen the many videos of people being shot and carrying on for a long time afterwards? I have. Real life isn't a movie where you shoot someone once perfectly aimed in the upper arm forcing them to fling their weapon away instantly. In real life you shoot someone and they keep moving and if they're swinging a knife at someone they keep stabbing. If you see a terrorist with a bomb do you shoot them till they lose their ability to detonate the bomb or do you give them a gentle warning shot and hope they stop? If you are actively trying to stab someone then you lose all your rights to a trial at that moment. The right of your victim to live comes above your right to a trial I'm afraid and that's regardless of skin colour
Seriously ST do you just take the obtuse view for the sake of it? Reports are varied and some say she was defending herself, the cop didn't know that, she could have been mentally disturbed! As far as they knew the others could also have been armed. I didn't say shoot her knife arm either, I said one shot would have probably put her down, torso/leg, at least giving her a chance of surviving until facts were ascertained ,she was a 16 year old kid not the incredible hulk. The next bit about bombs is totally beyond belief and not even worth arguing! 16 year old lass with a knife or terrorist with a bomb aye direct comparison there.
I've watched the video. 3 different views of it. At the point that someone is trying to murder someone else it isn't important whether they are having a mental breakdown, mentally ill or anything else. What's important is protecting the other person from being murdered which is why you HAVE to stop them you simply have to. Was she defending herself? She may have been originally but she certainly wasn't when the police were on the scene. When they were there she was the aggressor who was attempting to murder people with a knife. The only outcome there is that she gets shot. I can only assume you haven't bothered to watch what actually happened and have just read a report of a black girl being shot. I also assume you haven't seen the girl. You say she was a 16 year old girl not the hulk so one teeny little warning shot was enough to stop her. She was seriously obese, she was hardly a skinny little thing You say the others could have been armed, they could but they weren't holding a knife and lunging at people with it were they. She was

When they were there she was the aggressor who was attempting to murder people with a knife. The only outcome there is that she gets shot. Have a word with yourself , The only outcome? Really? Either way I never said they shouldn't have shot if it was necessary I was questioning it being a lethal shooting in a country that’s already on a knife edge about black people being shot. Then you brought in the terrorist scenario, a totally different thing when nearly everybody would agree with the use of lethal methods.
I sometimes disagree with ST but having seen the video I agree with this. She gets pushed to the floor then gets up, rushes the other girl who is pinned against a car and goes for her with a knife. It's a reasonable use of force in my opinion.
